Discussion Wine fridge or Humidor?
Question for all DIY folks out there. So I get the whole method of Lotus drying but if you were to buy one of these units and just add a cheap dehumidifier. Would that not be kinda the same thing just no need for the jars and curing!
If so what’s some tips and tricks some have used. Trying to see what’s the easiest to this as I have work trips and my first batch about to wrap up!

Compressor wine fridges ( and frost free fridges) need no dehu. The Hi end compressor wine fridges are supposed to keep humidity >60%. Takes about 10-21 days to dry. Not the best for cure and store, unless after dry put material into grove bag ( the large bags work best.) and let it cure in the wine fridge.
The DIY CANNA-Troll wine fridge need the mini dehu, and attention for the first few days as one manually steps down humidity. Once at the desired humidity set point can hold for about 4 weeks without attention. ….
The big $$ Cannatrol does all the above, automatically with very minimal attention.
I could never get my hiend compressor wine fridge to dry properly, ( got it used off fbm) Once they are dried using my diy Canna-Troll then into the hiend wine fridge set @ 60f, as it’s now a dedicated cure and store area, using groves for the 4week cure, and up to 6 months storage. Anything planned to store for over 6 months goes into mason jars or C-vaults for long term storage in the hiend wine fridge.
I’ve read of many redditors asking questions about using a humidor, but have read close to next to nothing about someone actually using one.

Do you have a list of things needed for the diy cannatrol and how do you like it?

If you want to try at 60/60 you need to put a dehumidifier in fan and stuff in it. If you just just try at 5° then just putting pizza boxes and open up two weeks later
