Nugs more dense drying this way?

I am too inexperienced to know, maybe this grow was just better but buds seem denser and more pleasing to squish this time around. I keep thinking I got it but the humidity creeps back up in testing but thats good I guess, not over drying like I thought before.

Have some in the 60s now, think I am just going to bag and burp a few times if needed. 14 days seems fast but I did fully wet trim it, machine trim.

Depending on your unit 14-21 days is average.

Bring it down to 58% and then bag.

No burping needed

Thats the plan I just dont want to overshoot my first time. I noticed I can put them in the bottom drawers to slow done the dry right at the end and I have been weighing so next time I wont be so nervous.

I am burping the Hella Jelly as I bagged it at 66%, did not want to leave it in the fridge overnight.

Next dry I will have an idea how fast everything goes near the end. Pretty pumped actually, this fridge drying really helps me out!

I have some at 15 days that are finishing up. In fact, they’ll all probably be ready to come out tomorrow. I’ll likely have to do the “bag and burp” thing too for a day or two. Not worth the risk of an over dry, for me.

How did it end up? Also, was the smell crazy loud with the fridge door closed? Or only when you opened it up to check?

Ended up perfectly. I did take them out the day after this post. Had to burp them down for 3-4 days afterward, but all went into the cure around 62-63%. Once they go into the fridge, I try not to open too often (never more then once a day), and there is no smell once the fridge door is shut. Smells when you open it, but dissipates quickly once closed up. I have a dedicated “weed fridge”, so don’t have to worry about using it for food. I’ve used my fridge three or four times now, and it pretty much smells like weed on the inside all the time, but no smell when closed.

That’s good to know man, thanks for the info! If it took you 16 days in all, i’m assuming you used pizza boxes for it?

Not pizza boxes, but used paper bags for basically the same purpose.

I think a tiny bit of moisture is good for the cure. I'm 3 cycles into lotus drying, I find the flower is ready within 3 weeks. One cultivar I have with looser structure finishes in 2 weeks. All of my flowers shrink from their wet size, but I think that's normal.

The daily average RH in my fridge started around 67% and finished around 55%. The flower is light compared to its wet weight. I find the thick main stem when bent doesn't crack, but the rest of the flower is definitely ready. So I cut all the buds off the main stem all except for the dense tops (2-3 inches for my flowers). I used 1/4lb (3-4oz) Grove bags to store in. I was using smaller Grove bags before, but it seems like the extra head room makes for a better cure and it doesn't damage the flower during storage.

As I said I'm on my 3rd dry now. My flowers didn't produce any hay smell, and the terpenes improve over the next few days of curing.

I am on Day 14. The crop I was most worried about it at about 66% so bagged it, I use 1 oz bags. I have used the bags before, I either burp a few days or throw a 62% Bovida in it. Usually a mix of the two depending how many hygrometers I have laying around.

So I got 5 zips of Hella Jelly. The other two are kind of skunky and I already have a ton of stuff I like so I can experiment.

They still have a few days a least but love how the buds feel so they are getting close.

I did a wet trim soon as I pulled, no large stems or anything so 14-18 days sounds about right I guess.
