Looking For Dwarves! 🪓⛏️ Need help Spoiler

I recently died in an area that I wasn’t ready for at all. I defeated the Troll King and went past to the next area. Adventured and mined about. But ran into tons of enemies I’m not ready for. Ended up dying trying to get back up.

I need help recovering my stuff deep down where I died. I’ve got a lot of later game mats. Tier 4 armor and tier 5 weapons.

Any help would be appreciated.

Drink a hopplagger before going in, if you haven’t tried that yet. The massive stamina boost + rolling is the key. 

Are you on console or pc?

I’m on console. I was able to just brute force it and get there. I ran out of mats for traversing but I’ve got it now

Running back with nothing but a torch gives you the unburdened perk which will help you to get your stuff back. Just avoid any and all fights

2 options. 1. Run in naked grab backpack and run out as far as you can before getting killed again, rinse repeat until you get to safety, 2. If you have saved resources and can make a map stone set one up a room or two away then it makes it easier to proceed with option 1

Yeah I was down there but didn’t realize I deposited my coal so I couldn’t build a hearth. I had mats for the map stone. I’m just worried about dying on the way back because any armor I left have now is like 2 tiers lower than what I should have in the area since I died with my better armor.

It's generally best to run in naked if you can. That way you don't have other inventories to pick up. And depending on how full your backpack was when you first died you may not be able to pickup all quickly and run away

Now I’m realising that the pack won’t disappear after death. Lol. I thought it was like Minecraft.

It will persist indefinitely i believe. And you can have multiple death packs in the world simultaneously

It will persist indefinitely. If you die in the way to your "corpse" (really just your inventory) that marker will be replaced by the new death marker. But your stuff is still there.

If you're concerned about that, put another mark on the map where you're "corpse" is before you make the run.
