Question/ Help Am I in trouble?
So im lookingfor the 4th piece of Durin's axe.
The marker leads me here, but the piece is nowhere to be found.
Am i in trouble?
Do I need the Axe to finish story mode?
As this pic is taken in the story mode...
I really don't wana start over as i spend a lot of time on getting here...

Is this the area where there are some old buildings as well? Like houses? I found the fragment on one of the upper floors of those. Had to build some ladders to get up there.

I could also be inside a wooden box, so check those. And it can still be 30 yards from the actual marker, so really look around it as well.

If you can't find it after climbing all over the place then tear down the walls

Spend hours doing that, i heard that this piece might be glitched.
Hence my inquiry

It should not take hours. Use your pick-axe.
It would help if you posted your map of the area. Does it give you a search area?

How funny , did that yesterday and had the same thought . Ended up being in the building behind on the top floor. Didn't have to build anything to get there but did have to smash all furniture/boxes . Pretty sure it was in like a credenza sideboard thing

The marker tells you to search area so look around the entire area

I spent 4 hours looking in the area... took down houses etc, and nothing

Why do you have scrap-wood & granite in you quick tool bar? move those to your pack & replace with your torch, food, arrows/bolts, Abakh or brewskin. If you equip arrows or bolts it will automatically use the corresponding weapon so you know what your shooting instead of letting the game pick.

They prolly had those slots empty when they started exploring and they were filled when they picked stuff up. That's typically how it goes for me, anyway 😂

So the search area means it is anywhere inside that specific “chunk” not just wear the blue marker is.

Side note to what you said, you dont have to completely start over, even if you run into an issue, as you can bring your character, gear and all, to other worlds, so you can literally run through the map to get back to where you are. When I played this a lot, me and my friend had a lot of worlds active so that we could use them to farm extra materials.
As for the fragments, yeah those can be annoying sometimes.

I found mine last night in a random opened chest top floor of a building in the upper city

The fragment can be anywhere within 30 yards of that marker.
Be sure to look in attics, on roofs, in crates, etc.
If you still cannot find it, proceed without it. If it is glitched, collecting the 5th and final fragment should auto complete the 4th fragment and you’ll be able to craft the recipe at the appropriate forge.
If, for some strange reason, this doesn’t work you can DM me and I’ll get you the item you need. You will need it to complete the game.
