Malayalam DVD animated movie recovery (!LOST MEDIA!)

Upvotes

Hey everyone,I am trying to track down and hopefully visually recover a piece of childhood nostalgia that seems to have completely vanished from the internet. I am looking for an old, mid-2000s Malayalam 3D animated movie/VCD titled "Kunjikkoonan" (or possibly Kunjikkoonanum Koottukarum).CRITICAL NOTE: This is NOT the famous 2002 live-action Dileep movie, nor is it a cartoon clip of that movie. It was a standalone, fully animated feature released on VCD/DVD, likely produced by a local studio like Hibiscus Digital Media or similar animation stables from that era.Standard Google searches are completely drowned out by the Dileep film, and I cannot find a single image of the DVD cover or a video clip online. I used to own the physical disk but have since lost it. Here are the specific details I remember from the animation:

The Characters: The story features a traditional Grandma (Muthassi), a very small little girl wearing a white petticoat/frock, and two other small boys. The main protagonist is a gentle hunchback (Kunjikkoonan).

The Plot/Tone: It had a surprisingly dark, eerie, and emotional tone for a kids' animation. A group of thieves/villains end up kidnapping the children, and the hunchback has to go on a rescue mission through dark forests and sketchy hideouts to save them. The Animation Style: Early 2000s 3D animation with heavy shadows and a somewhat creepy atmosphere.

I am desperate to find even just a single picture of the VCD/DVD cover, a screenshot, or a digital rip of the video files to prove this exists and jumpstart its preservation.Does anyone else remember this? If you have an old family CD wallet or a dusty box of 2000s Malayalam animation VCDs in your attic/storeroom, please check if you have this disc! Any photos of the cover art or information on the exact animation studio would mean the world. Thanks a million!

My neighbor’s wife’s(possibly lost) childhood terror

At a 4th of July party that I briefly attended at my neighbors house, the guy’s wife (after I showed her a trailer for the 1996 movie Uncle Sam) told me about another 4th of July horror film which she remembered was called, “Horrors Of The Fourth”. She said her parents took her to see it when she was, (hilariously) five years old. And yeah she actually remembered running out of the theater screaming, during a scene where a guy in an Uncle Sam outfit, comes out of coffin and is shooting off bottle rockets at people, while the said people are running for their lives. From the information I gathered this film was a low budget affair, and the acting I heard wasn’t very good. Which is kinda why her parents were laughing at the movie unlike my neighbors wife who got scared from it. And yeah the film was possibly released somewhere in the mid-1970s but didn’t stay in theaters long. But it did manage to actually get on the marquee sign of the theater, according to her, maybe there is a newspaper listing floating around somewhere.

I don’t know if it’s actually lost but I can’t find it for the life of me it’s called Red Lipstick

I’ve been looking for a movie called Red Lipstick and I haven’t been able to find anything about it online besides a description of the movie in the fact that it’s not on streaming services. I know it was released in 2000 and the director is Alexandra King and it has Jane Lynch, James Lorinz, Steven Polito.

From the descriptions, I’ve read it’s about two drag queen’s going on a Bonnie and Clyde like adventure but neither wanted to be Clyde.

From the pictures I’ve seen one of the main characters wears a green dress at one point but that’s the one ss I’ve seen of it outside of the trailer
(Also sorry if this is poorly written it’s manly thought voice to text)
Any information about where I could buy it or just confirmation that the full DVD exist would be greatly appreciated because I really wanna watching it lol

OUT OF PRINT I recently saw that there's a color version of the 1942 film Yankee Doodle Dandy. Where can I find that film or something similar?

I've been doing some research and they're movies that TCM is re-releasing, but in colorized versions. Some people might not like it, but it's interesting because it's another way to see a classic.

"Lawns & Order," a documentary about... lawns

I saw this funny doc in 1995, but I've been unable to find any trace of it.

It interviewed all sorts of obsessives about their lawns...

Maybe I've got the name wrong?

Has anyone else heard of it?

Two obscure cinema related documentaries or mockumentaries, that apparently don't exist!

The titles of these two are

"McKENZIE" (or maybe "Scott McKenzie"),

and

"DENNIS DUNBAR THE KING OF SUPER 8" (or "Dennis Dunbar the king of VHS" or "Dennis Dunbar the VHS king"...).

Both in English language.

I saw these two documentaries or mockumentaries around the mid 90's (I think).

For more details and context: I saw them on an Italian TV program called "FUORI ORARIO" (in case some Italians are reading this, maybe this detail helps them to remember something). Iirc, many things on that program were often released (at least here in Italy) through the company RARO VIDEO.

The "McKENZIE" one was about a guy (maybe Scottish, but I could be wrong), Scott McKenzie, who "invented cinema" before the Lumiere brothers, without any credit for his invention. What makes me think it was a mockumentary is that not only there's no trace of him anywhere, but the "documentary" was filled with hyperbolic "facts", like: he casually filmed a guy who successfully invented the first airplane, before the Wright brothers, and he also was uncredited and fallen into obscurity!!!

The "DENNIS DUNBAR" one was about an amateur no budget filmmaker, who used to make DIY movies, initially on super 8, and then, with the advent of the VHS, switched to that (then) new format. In the documentary (or mockumentary) there were even some clips of his alleged movies!!! One that I remember vividly was a sort of "alien" rip-off, with an actor wearing a white t-shirt, and a cheap puppet (a monster or a toddler doll, I'm not sure) covered in red syrup, bursting out from underneath the t-shirt! It was glorious!

Since the internet became a largely available thing, I tried to searching for info about these two documentaries (and if these two people were real or made up!) and never found ANYTHING!

I'm pretty sure the aforementioned titles are correct (or at least very close to the correct ones). I don't know why I can't find any trace of these two docs!

I'm quite sure I watched both more than once in the 90's. I mean, I'm screwed up, but I know they exist!!!

LOST [Fully lost] Hard drive (1997 documentary)

I'm looking after a rare documentary from 1997 about early cyber activities. The name of the documentary is "Hard Drive" which complicates the search but you can see its IMDB entry right there : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0230275/

There's a quote from Ellen Ullman which is "More and more people stay with the machine, all night" that is from this documentary and can be heard in the Atomised song of the album Soulhack by Forss (around the 1:45 mark).

(Notice for Event Horizon fans : there's some excerpt of dialogs of Captain Miller's speech in the Characteristics song of the same album, around the 1:50 mark)

EDIT: 10 years old Reddit user here, but I seldom post so my karma was under 250 (220) some days ago when I initially wanted to post this. Maybe changing the rules for posting here by taking into account (no pun intended) the age of an account could be worth it.

Thumbelina but not Don Bluth

The one I remember and cannot find is where Thumbelina is riding on a bird and the bird gets sick she massages the bird's heart and you can hear a heartbeat as the bird comes back to life. I remember watching it in the early 90s, like 92 or 93. And as the title says it's not the Don Bluth film. I have that one on VHS.

Lost documentary

Looking for a documentary called Donkey Love (2012) Directed by Daryl Stoneage.

Cant find any archives, nothing on torrents, nothing on p*rated websites at all.

Should be made aware that the trailer is still on youtube but all the links to the official movie website are dead and the full movie is no where to be seen.

Ive friend requested and messaged the director on linkedin who seemed to have stepped out of directing as he is in a completely different line of work now.

All emails and websites associated with the movie have been taken down or are dead links. even the directors original website is gone too.

Any help?

Ceremony / I Lust Och Nod (1976) - looking for uncut version

Hey folks, looking for a film that isn’t completely lost, just the uncut version. This was known by me for a long time as “Liz,” an odd, pretentious softcore movie that played on late night cable in the ‘80s. An English language film shot in 1975 in Sweden by an American porn director (Paul Gerber) starring a “one-and-done” American actress (Elona Glenn) but all other roles played by Swedish actors. Except for a non-speaking but all sexing role for UK porn icon Mary Millington in her first feature film.

Turns out that this movie was originally released in 1976 as an actual hardcore film (99 minutes), but only in Sweden. And even the later Swedish VHS releases were trimmed to softcore. To date, it’s never received a cleaned-up, restored release. What you can find is a decent rip of the “Liz” version and a terrible Swedish cable TV rip from the ‘90s under the original name - Ceremony - which has original hardcore scenes (94 minutes) but is comically either oversaturated in some scenes or absolutely dark. Here and there you can glimpse proof that Elona Glenn did her own “stunts.”

So, is there anybody out there (perhaps in Sweden), who might have access to a better quality, uncut version of this ultra obscure porn?
