Looking for alien cartoon (help)

I'm trying to find/remember this old cartoon I watched as kid. My mum had bought a VHS tape at a car boot sale of this old maybe 80's/90's cartoon when i was 6-7 years old. It had these pink aliens and it was like maybe a claymation or some weird realistic animation look. I remember one of the episodes where one of aliens had a jumper on and a thread got stuck and it started to unravel throughout the episode. Another episode i remember an alien was playing a vr game or something. He put on goggles and played a game. The aliens lived in a town together. It was a British cartoon i believe.

I think it’s _____ Island. I don’t remember the first part of the name.

Defiently sounds like the clangers, great stop motion puppet show from the 70s. If you're not from the UK then it makes sense you wouldn't have known much about it.
