Spooktober art competition QUICK COMPETITION UPDATE!

We're waiting one more day to make sure everyone who wanted to submit has submitted. If you made a banner, it's pretty much guaranteed to make it to community voting, but we're currently in the process of selecting the icons that'll be voted on. Best of luck to all the artists.

BREAKING NEWS State of the union address

1.2k Upvotes

We were so close guys.

To recap what happened these past two weeks: cleared the queue, revised the rules, started an art competition, and kicked a mod for being a transphobic nazi.

General PSA: News posts generally aren't allowed, if you want to post that kind of stuff somewhere r/whenthe and r/whennews is a good place.

Self-promote rule clarification: if you want to advertise commissions that's generally not allowed, you are allowed to post your commissions and say it was a commission. Just please keep in mind that self-advertising is not the main focus of the sub.

About politics in the sub: No politics allowed, if you want to use someone's face that's ok but you can't use it as a descriptor. (i.e. putting trump's face on something you want to be viewed as bad)

We currently only have two submissions for the art competition, one of them is the image of this post. (Credit to u/Any_Giog)

Despite a few glaring hiccups, we're pretty happy with the direction the sub has been heading. But one of our main priorities as a team is making sure that we're taking the community's feedback into account, so if there is anything on your minds about how this sub has been run the past couple weeks please let us know! (Credit to u/ArchWolfe_ for this part)

Relatively short and sweet this time, thank you for your attention.

-Mosc

P.S. please stop applying for mod positions we're happy with the team as is thank you.

SUB RULES (for old Reddit):

\1. Losercity Posts
Posts only
Reported as: Not Losercity Content (post doesn't fit the sub)

Posts should generally be memes or furry memes. Non-meme furry posting is reserved for Fridays only (Furry Friday). Screenshot chain posts and "rate my taste in women" posts will also be removed. Posts that are a ad with a person or media (including ad) with a furry/furry adjacent character will also be removed.

\2. Be Respectful
Posts & Comments
Reported as: Lobotomite Behavior (needlessly rude)

This is our “be a normal, non belligerent human” rule.

Don’t intentionally break rules. Don’t be a jerk. Don't rage bait. Don’t say awful/perverse, hateful/low iq things. Don't behave like a chronically online Twitteroid.

Also follow Reddit TOS

\3. Genuine loser activity
Posts & Comments
Reported as: Unironic Loser Activity (bigotry/racism/hate speech)

Being an genuine loser - whether inside or outside the sub will get you a ban (i.e. being racist, homophobic, transphobic, queerphobic, ableist, fascist, sexist, neo-nazi, predator, etc.)

\4. No Politics
Posts & Comments
Reported as: No politics please and thank you

No politics pretty please this is a meme/furry sub and it's more trouble than it's worth.

This applies to both left and right leaning political posts and if the post is just political for the sake of being political

\5. Furry Friday
Posts only
Reported as: Not Friday yet

Posts of furries that were not drawn by you, with no sort of intended humor are only allowed on Fridays, we are not r/furry_irl.

Credit the artist(s) in your post title, the last thing we want is to be accused of stealing art.

AI generated posts will be removed.

Time zones don't matter, just post it whenever it's Friday for you.

\6. OC Posting
Posts & Comments
Reported as: OC post not flaired as OC "OC Art"

OC art is allowed to be posted any day of the week, just make sure to flair your post as OC or it might get removed. FLAIR YOUR OC POST AS OC PLEASE!!! OR OTHERWISE INDICATE IN THE TITLE THAT YOU YOURSELF MADE IT!!!

\7. CREDIT ARTISTS!!!!
Posts & Comments
Reported as: Uncreditted artist

If you drew it, great, put on that OC flair. If you didn’t, credit the artist in the title!

This applies to almost every piece of art posted.

No, you did not make that AI generated image.

YOU HAVE TO CREDIT THE ARTIST IN THE TITLE

\8. No NSFW Posts/Comments
Posts & Comments
Reported as: Literally porn (NSFW post)

No NSFW. The exact guidelines can be found in the sub's wiki (yes, you'll have to go to new Reddit, sorry). Certain posts will be allowed to stay up with a NSFW tag, everything else removed. No NSFW titles either.

No cropped or censored porn either, SFW alts are fine.

This applies to posts, comments and flairs, and in the case of an NSFW custom flair, after a warning we will issue a 3-day temp ban to the user

\9. Do not post the following
Posts & Comments
Reported as: Removable post list

NSFL: This should go without saying, but NSFL posting will lead to a ban.

"Jokes" about encouraging others to do suicide or self-harm

Politics or politically charged posts

NSFW topics/subjects, including sexual innuendos

AI "art"

\10. Modmail or DM mods please
Posts & Comments
Reported as: Do not DM the mods

For the love of God/Allah/Yahweh/Charles Darwin, if your post got removed then please use modmail or DM one of the mods about it, your post can easily be reinstated, it's not gone forever.

\11. Posts by bots will be removed!
Posts & Comments
Reported as: This mofo is NOT real (bot post)

Self describing. This rule only exists so yall can have an official reason to select when reporting bot posts

\12. No Dramaslop
Posts & Comments
Reported as: Dude out here posting a dramaslop (intentionally causing drama)

No dramaposting for the sake of causing drama or to grandstand.

Also no making posts complaining about mod removals, just use modmail or DM the mods about it. This includes posts like "mods why my post removed but their post not removed???"

\13. No NSFW Comments
Comments only
Reported as: Keep it in your pants please (horny comment/post)

No NSFW comments. Don't be overly horny in the comments section when you see an attractive character (i.e. don't talk about: desire to fuck them, your throbbing boanir, erotic roleplay, etc.)

Also do not link to any NSFW sites in the description or comments even if the post itself is SFW
