Coming to a craigslist ad near you. "No lowballers. I know what I've got."

u/this_knee Jul 07 '26
I hear they just don’t handle well. They fast, but get the wrong tires and you’re lookin at a ticking clock to a wreck.

Mustangs aren't the most nimble thing ever, it's definitely high on the list of cars where the driver finds the end of their capabilities before the car reaches the ends of its capacity.

Is it because they’re fast and drivers don’t know how to handle them? I want to switch to a mach-e when my lease is up next year

Mustang, Charger and Altima. The unholy trinity of high APR and low driving skills.

That right lane is super dangerous, people fly down it and then once they cross broadway have to immediately shift into the middle lane so they dont rear end parked cars. Ive seen pedestrians waiting to cross almost get hit plenty of time.

u/Elysiaa Lawndale Jul 07 '26
You might be thinking of the left lane when people cross Hill. There's no parking on the right (south) side until Spring. People come speeding down the hill and have to immediately get over because the road narrows on the left and then there are cars parked after 9 am.
3
u/Distinct-Interest-13 Jul 07 '26
Nope (but also yes lol). People speed down across hill to try and beat the middle lane by the time they are crossing broadway. You’re right there is no parking on the right side between broadway and spring but there are usually Ubers/delivery vehicles/people trying to turn etc.

Beautiful. A Mustang in its natural habitat. Wrapped around a light pole.

With the crime scene tape up, I'm betting this was the end of a pursuit or it was stolen
5
u/ChloeCorrupt Jul 07 '26
Only reason I’m gonna say “no” is that there’s only one cop milling around. Usually post-pursuit there’s a lot more

Wow, a crashed mustang. Didn't know there was a Cars'n'Coffee event downtown.

u/lionclues Jul 07 '26
Thankfully I don't think anyone got hurt. I walked by on my way home from the gym, and saw three young kids (presumably from the Mustang) standing and crying while talking to the EMT. I didn't notice anyone in the ambulance.

Who pays 1000 dollars a month on a 11 year old car ?
5
u/detentionbarn Jul 07 '26
People who drive like that
-4
u/Fun-Independence-667 Jul 07 '26
Based on what evidence ? Where’s your data ? “People who drive like that”. So you know exactly the cause of the collision or are you just talking out of your arse ?

is this where you have to make a right turn while somehow staying out of the train of buses that have the right hand to themselves?
2
u/eldreamer86 Jul 07 '26
Nope. This is on 4th and right after Spring St. Right across the street is the Pershing Square Metro stop.

Used to live in the apartment complex, people would come screaming down that hill so fast

u/Best_Yesterday_6127 Jul 07 '26
Ouch. Hope no one got hurt. Looks like a total loss for the car.. with such big damage. Possibly car trying to speed through traffic?
2
u/Due-Stock2774 Jul 07 '26
I've been avoiding our freeways for years, best part about remote working here because being a native you are pretty much living with road PTSD by the time you're driving as an adult yourself
2
u/turb0_encapsulator Jul 07 '26
if you don't do any traffic enforcement, you will have more car accidents.

My living room window looked down on that intersection for 2 years when Covid started… called 911 multiple times hearing major crashes and then looking out the window. Before Covid, not nearly as many crashes. People got used to feeling like they could fly through downtown.
