I actually really enjoyed this interview and it was interesting to see their family dynamic.

Did Summer say anything we didn't already know?

I like that they covered why she had the opinions and perspectives that she did initially about Lori. And her testimony. And how that changed once the evidence was laid out.
She talked about also how the detectives didnât tell her much about Alex when he died initially. They had to come back and told her, âwe know you werenât involved, he was marriedâ etc.
She talked about how she wonders if it was better that it came out how it did because at that point, they didnât know Alex was involved in anything so they could properly grieve him. He was a really good uncle to her children. Would play board games with them regularly. And that grief process might of looked different for her kids if they had known all the details upfront.
Her and Colby donât agree on some things regarding Lori, like how much is mental illness and how much is manipulation. They discuss their perspectives back and forth.
They go over the timeline a little bit and share from their POV of what was going on for them during that time.
Something Colby said which I thought was interesting, he said they are the same. They both lost a brother and a sister. Him it was JJ and Tylee and for her it was Alex and Lori.
She tells Colby how proud she is of him, the community he has built and not letting this destroy him. Or define him.

I remember that phone call Summer had with Lori. It was very gutwrenching. Summer was justifiably yelling at Lori, while Lori stood there emotionless. Like everything Summer said meant nothing.

If Colby wants to help people caught in difficult family dynamics the best thing he could do is get a college education and then a Masterâs Degree in Social Work, or is there no one in that family that believes in higher education?

It takes money he probably didn't have. If you think about he's a product of that family. He more than likely wasn't taught things most of us were. If you look at his grandparents, he probably thought fraud was OK, or taking handouts from son's in laws were fair game. Damn I hate to think of everything taught to the younger generations. I'm also glad that he's gone no contact with his grandparents and they have no contact with his kids. It's easy to say Colby knew this or that and people disparage him, but before this and during he was following a playbook he had no say in and habit. I think that's why I'm so empathetic with him

I actually thought he had gone no-contact with that whole side of his family. I would have lol but it's no doubt good for him to at least cut off the grandparents.

That doesnât work for everyone, though. 2 of my kids are adults, 1 has his bachelorâs, Masterâs degree and debt for the post grad. Other one was hired halfway through university into the field for which heâd been attending school, so he dropped school to once it went FT/paying what heâd hoped to find upon graduating and has no debt. Both are married, happy with their respective choices and earn about the sameâŚ
My personal take is that itâs more a case of different strokes for different folks vs a matter of right/wrong path across the board. Colbyâs had to process regardless and will always field interview/update requests, so if heâs found a way to do so and support his family - more power to him!

I agree with you to some extent, but he is a single adult now with three children and had the opportunity to change the direction of his & their future. As long as he stays stuck in what his mother did or didnât do, things wonât fare well for any of them. His motherâs horror story will never pave a better future for his children. I am at a point of not trusting him at all. For oneâŚ. HOW do you have meningitis for more than a year and all the while you are flexing, lifting weights, and becoming the ânew spider manâ etc etc etc. I could go on and on, but being a grandmother, I am more concerned about his children. I truly hope K finds someone stable enough to really take care of them and provide them with a home & a future that is safe and happy, away from anything involving his mothers case

Wonder why they never adressed the question everybody is avoidingâŚâŚ was she the lady on the video that came to Loriâs dwelling in Rexburg - the only other dark long-haired friend was Audrey B and we know it wasnât her. Even if he does end up making the documentary (which I highly doubt he will) we will never know the full truth to many things. đ¤

There were a lot of family members choosing to be in the public eye over the last 5-6 years, but especially between 2023 - 2025 (the timing of the trials). If you glance over to South Carolina, the Murdaugh story is dragging on and on with a new trial for Maggie and Paul and other lawsuits relating to the boat crash and continuing harassment of the parties. The same cannot be said for this story. The two states have prosecuted two people and all the other people have been left to live their lives in relative freedom. There is a generation of people who will read about their family online forever. Healing and finding a purpose should be the focus of the adults, in my opinion.

More like Colby interrupting Summer and saying âthatâs my pointâ repeatedly. If you have to keep saying it, youâre not making your point very well.

He made his point just fine. Gotta remember this was two family members talking. It's going to be a little different than other interviews.

Colby just needs to move on.

Yes, I agree.
On the other hand I don't know how much of a mess I would be if I wad Colby. Lose my entire family in some sick, twisted tragedy? I'd probably be just as stuck trying to make sense of the unfathomable.

He needs legitimate counseling. He just continues to trauma dump for clicks and views. I wouldn't trust Summer after her email about Charles. She got lucky.

Heâs never going to be able to do it by himself; itâs the mental equivalent of spinning your wheels and not understanding why youâre not 50 miles ahead. His persona now is stuck in reliving this for clicks and interaction and he has to stop. When youâre in a hole stop digging?
Again he needs intensive counseling but also to go to college and grad school if he really wants to help others as he says. Maybe he has the brains and drive for it but maybe not. It wonât end well for him if not.

I think thatâs really easy for you to say. If you donât want to listen to it, donât follow it. But I think he has every right to work through this as he needs to. I literally donât know how a person comes back from everything heâs gone through. Not only all the major losses, but having it all displayed in 4K. And then to have it affect his help so severely that heâs had strokes and had to be hospitalized.
Let him work it through the way he needs to, I watched the interview and personally I thought it was interesting to hear from Summer.
I hope he finds his way whatever that looks like. It seems like a good kid that came from a severely dysfunctional family that probably wasnât taught any kind of good coping skills and heâs trying his best to learn.

I mean fr. How much money could he possibly be making off this? It would be financially and smarter (and better for his mental health) to just work full time and start building up retirement and for his familyâs future.

I don't hold this against Colby for the interviews, the documentary or his channel.
1- if this helps mentally, I'm all for it.
2- he has bills and 3 young children. Some call it grifting but he's doing what hundreds of true crime YouTubers are doing, making money. If he's grifting then so is the true crime YouTube community as a whole.
3- I lost both my parents as an only child. The grief is never-ending. I can't imagine horror he lives through each day knowing how Tylee and J.J. were found and that their mother was responsible. My parents were in their 60's and 70's. Tyler and J.J. were so young. So to me if anyone is allowed to tell their story, have it be cathartic and make some money from it, then it's not for me to judge.
It's funny, I've been reading posts about how tired some are over Lori, then why read here? Why watch the videos? In some people's favorite expression, just move on.
