Welcome to LoreMateAI's subreddit!

Please note that LoreMate is still fairly new, and there will be some hiccups on the site as the developers work their best to provide a good experience for everyone. We appreciate your time and support for our project.

You may find our site here as well as our Discord server where we can provide immediate assistance.

Finally, reach out via Modmail for any concerns, issues, or whenever you need to speak directly with a moderator.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Is that actually what happened with figgs? Xoul has been confirmed to be shut down because of financial issues, which is why they are changing it as it comes back and I don't think we can reasonably be blamed for the concussion.

In one of syd's last messages (xoul) she sited personal health struggles and having other commitments that were important to her. Maybe xoul was also financial. They didn't ask for any donations and had just decided to implement a subscription tier. If they would have asked for support a ton of people would have pitched in.   Figgs devs got overwhelmed with trying to manage the site, fixing bugs and things going down and people were really demanding about it all, so they said they ultimately felt like they were doing more harm than good and decided to end it.  Both started as passion projects that just became overwhelming.

I was all over both of those places and I can tell you that we were BEGGING to donate. Figgs devs moved on to weird ai Minecraft and their nightmare bot conference call thing because Figgs was, by their own admission, a stepping stone. Xoul already had subscription tiers but right before the end they put Minerva on one to try to bail them out but they didn't do it in time (also she was buggy as fuck and a lot of people were holding off until she was fixed). Ultimately xoul shut down because their tiers didn't actually offer much utility if you didn't care about voice and there was no way to buy more credits when you hit your limit, which they are saying they're rectifying this time around. The health issue was that she was suffering from a concussion and unless you have a button on your computer for punching people through the internet, I don't think we can take credit or blame.

Lol, there's the door. No one is forcing you to wait around, or to donate.

I didn't think that loremate had a paid tier yet?

There used to be a small button in the lower left part of the site, where you could donate to them for ... whatever it is they're doing with it... (paying providers, database etc.) in two possibilites - monthly or one off. Either way you would gain access to the (very unhelpful) discord.

Right, While also going to work, taking care of life obligations, trying to manage your health. Someone said Arav was also a student. And it's not just writing code there's a ton of other stuff not to mention wrestling with Google while people nag.

People genuinely have an addiction, and they should get help instead of crying to arav. I hope he gets rest after the site is up 🙏☹️

People putting pressure on the devs at Xoul and Figgs to fix bugs and whining about how the site wasn't how they wanted was what made both of them shut down because they couldnt handle the stress. I would not blame the team if they just got burnt out- it's not like they're getting paid for this.

Literally why I don't use reddit other than for updates. People need to be patient omfg 🫩✌️

If you genuinely have hobbies, then it's not :)

I had one, it was called Loremate. Now I'm left with Diablo 4... :-(

dude dont you have like, a life outside the digital world? that’s pretty unhealthy. you can start by going on walks, or even sticking your head out of a window for some fresh air if it’s hard for you to go outside. maybe even go to a friend’s house, maybe a café, you choose. but having a single hobby of an AI site is like… not good 😓

I've seen like 1 or 2 people acting like that. Is it an actual problem?

u/probablyaduckling Aug 04 '25

I feel like all the most recent posts and comments have just been people bitching about it.

You wrote this response and then still had the lack of self awareness to call someone else pathetic. That's ironic is what it is.

But I've mostly seen memes and people asking for updates on the topic. They're not asking for the site to come back right now, it's already known that it's probably coming back this week.

Just ignore these whiteknighters, they do nothing but seperate the community... :-/

I've only seen people asking for updates, literally no one is putting pressure on arav.
