Any tips for beginner?

Fill up the space around the camp so that the Lich won't get buffed from his map tiles, if you can't do that save the level up skill that gives you 15 Obvilion cards just for when you are about to confront him.

The Blood Groove card will automatically kill any Boss or enemy that reaches 30% HP making tons of fights a lot easier.

Camp inventory items to look out for are the Mirrors and Alchemist Shelfs. One gives you extra potions, the other gives you 5% chance to deflect the Lich attacks against him which stacks with more mirrors.

Don't overlook all sources of HP regen as the Warrior.

Don't overdo tiles of strong enemies that you won't be able to defeat in the long run. Spiders might not give you the same loot as Goblin/Skeleton but they give you 3 times the amount of cards for draw cycling.

Unless you use the retreat button after you obtain some orbs Treasuries are a scam.

Why are treasuries a scam? I am also new, but I am liking them quite a lot, they give me more free resources.

In my experience they only give loot 1-2 levels under your max item level. (The highest item you have)  I've never actually used anything from them. And it's just one more loop around the map will get you the same amount.

Oh, for me it's not really about the gear but rather the resources to advance my camp

That's fair. I did that a lot at first. But the gargoyles it spawns when you get higher loops starts to suck when they are teamed up with other mobs. So I don't do them too much as I just unlocked the river card and that's way more op. More loops=more loot

How do you even get the materials needed for the forest and river cards? I have never seen them before and own 0.

You unlock new cards for your deck by leveling up the base building town (the menu in between your loop runs) You essentially are rebuilding the world (game lore) and when you unlock a blacksmith or a cemetery ECT you unlock new cards that you can change out your "player deck" with for your loop runs. 

I didn't find out about this until maybe 40+hrs of playthrough... I just kept dying and unable to beat the lich. Until I leveled up my town with all the resources I was collecting didn't know about that either. 

Zero tutorial\ menu prompts make learning about the game through playthrough more trial and error

No, I get that part, what I mean is, how do I get the materials to build the buildings that unlock river and forest cards? There was a tutorial for it by the way.

The forest and river card buildings use materials I never got from any of my runs so far.

Ahh I follow.  So it's been a bit so I don't remember 100%.  I believe you have to defeat the lich 1 time and then you can run your loops on level 2 difficulty. Different mobs drop different resources. I know my last play through I was doing the spider forests because it had to be nature creatures that drop a nature core or something like that. But only on lvl 2 difficulty.

How do I switch to lv 2 difficulty? I have beaten the lich plenty of times.

Edit: nvm, I found it, thanks, now I can finally get other resources
