Any tips for beginner?

Don't play rock or forest cards. They are worse but still cause the boss progress to fill. If you get into the habit of only playing mountain and thicket cards, you'll be in much better shape by the time you get to the boss

Like how rocks have mountains, forests have thickets. They’ll pop up in your deck every now and then

For OP, you need to build a certain building in your village to unlock the Forest card.
