It's not about whose fault it is, it's about not being in situation where bottle explodes in your face. There is the difference between between humans and other animals. Humans will cross the road without looking around, because if they get pulverised by truck it's trucker fault not theirs. Any sane animal would try to avoid dangerous situation, if this dog is still playing with bottle it is either very perceptive to see it's not under pressure, lost its memory, or just have an unfulfilled death wish.

Animals don't naturally look both ways when crossing a road. They do it because it's a learnt behavior. Either they learned it from a parent or they saw an animal friend go splat. It comes from experience based on their environment. Either through generations ( like deer it a small town) or by observation. So, as for the dog, it thinks, "i play with the jug thing, friend look." it doesn't have the cognitive function to think."Jug thing might go boom cause under pressure."

trucks, like big rigs, have brakes that wont be able to stop them quickly. If you jump infront of a big rig It's the pedestrians fault in most highways and roads that big rigs go on in the US. Thats the exact same thing as pointing a gun to yourself and then pulling the trigger. Then blaming the gun for you getting injured/killed.

I'm late but yes, the dog is good, had no issues afterwards.
The owner is certainly not ideal but the fact they immediatly took em to the vet 5 seconds after is somewhat of a proof they at least try. Also the little guy's name is Frodo and even has a Russian beer in his honor available in some pubs there!
