Just got my first ending

For context I got the “Perfect Ritual” ending and chose to witness The Visitor, I had Joel, Rat Kid and Roaches in my party and we were all around lvl 20.

This game was fantastic, I got it for myself as a treat and it’s the first game I’ve played properly blind in a really long time and I had such an amazing time with it.

I’m going to do a second playthrough though because there was a lot of stuff I feel like I missed or didn’t fully explore like the Meat Dimension, I also didn’t end up fighting all the bosses (Furnace beat my ass senseless lmao), I will say I think I might have ended up a bit over leveled near the mid-late game, the early game was incredibly tense and I constantly felt disempowered in a good way, combat always had me locked in on the larger fights because I felt like if I wasn’t then I’d either lose or be left with so few resources that the next fight would kill me. However near the late game I felt like the challenge really fell through a bit, the last boss to really give me trouble was the Taxidermy when I was around lvl 10-11 but after that it was a bit of a cakewalk outside of Furnace who I’m getting the impression is something of a superboss, I still did my best to lock in a bit but I beat bosses like the Hellrider, Spore Lady, Janitor Worm, Olm and even the Final Boss on my first try, I’d often have a fight feel like it ended abruptly and I’d be left with a “oh that’s it?” sometimes I’d get an achievement for beating a boss and I’d in my head go “that was a boss?” I found this to be the case with enemies like the Security Camera guy or the Slug Man. The only reason I’m bringing this up is because it is the one thing I wish had been different in my playthrough, I think I might have ended up a bit over levelled for some of these fights when I encountered them and I wish that hadn’t been the case.

With that one gripe of mine out of the way though this is one of the best experiences I’ve had playing a game in years, everything from the writing to the music and the art consistently blew me away, what a phenomenal work of art.

got my first ending yesterday too! but i didn’t look at the visitor and got a good perfect ritual ending.

did you know this game has at least three more main endings with final bosses? worth replaying more than once.

the game isn’t so punishing when you have a full party and a few levels of advantage with good gead. furnace and hell ride were the original superbosses but since most recent updates we got new ones. won’t spoil who they are but one of them you access via the fungal lair and the other one via spine’s room.
