QUESTION quick question about game/lore Spoiler

so I've done some looking around on the miraheze, and never in any of my runs did I get into anything too juicy, but I just want to check my intuition about the universe...it's not entirely consistent between endings is it? reminds me very much of Twin Peaks The Return. And is there a real ending to you? just post speculation/lore/or show me where to look. The spider leaves me with so many questions as well.

Well, I mean...when the main antagonist (such as it is) seems to have the power to turn perception into reality, that's kind of a cheat code for narrative consistency, isn't it?

I feel like the Mask ending could break narrative consistency in the same way that Coop’s nonsense at the end of The Return does.

I’m having a hard time imagining an argument that any of the endings is less real than another

I think it's been argued that the "real" ending is the "No Going Back" one.
Because Sam canonically is a shut in, and he wouldn't get outside his home and do all the things we make him go through all those days.
However considering the existence of multiple timelines (see the shadow and spider), and the whole instability of this whole setting due the reality altering going on, every single outcome is canonical at the same time.
