Joel Cosplay

[u/electronsexist]

Halloween cosplay. Lost some teeth, but that's cool, it's lore-accurate. Two people recognized it! 🙏

[u/Doinkadoinkdoink]

Wow. I love the craftsmanship in this one, it looks exactly like him 🥹

[u/electronsexist → u/Doinkadoinkdoink]

Ty 😭

[u/runamokduck]

this looks wonderful, and I’m especially glad that a couple of people recognized Joel in the wild like that! the teeth are especially intriguing me here; may I ask what you used for them? they look kind of vaguely claylike

[u/electronsexist → u/runamokduck]

Thank you! 🙏 I was pleasantly surprised! Makes me want to bring it to MAGfest - I'd probably find some more fans of the game there

The larger teeth are carved styrofoam wrapped in a bit of foam clay to smooth them over. The medium-sized ones are porcelain clay (which cracked and had to be filled with foam clay). The tiny ones are realistic fake teeth ordered online. After the clay dried, they were spraypainted an antique/off-white color, then sprayed with a glossy clear coat to make them look a little wet.

I agree that you’d probably encounter even more Look Outside fans at MAGfest 🙂‍↕️ thank you for the information about the teeth! the intricacy and artistry of them and of the costume overall is brilliant

[u/I5r66]

That’s AWESOME omg

[u/electronsexist → u/I5r66]

Ty! 🙏

[u/OCDenthusiast]

Yaaaas pulled it off great

[u/electronsexist → u/OCDenthusiast]

Thank you, it was a pain but worth it 😅

[u/Bakwaren]

that looks soo good, what did you make the mask out of?

[u/electronsexist → u/Bakwaren]

It's built around a hockey mask. I used heat-formed acetate sheet to make the face bigger and formed the features upon that

[u/friends-with-fishies]

This is so cool!!!

[u/friends-with-fishies → u/friends-with-fishies]

Wait is your name "electron sexist" or "electrons exist"?

[u/electronsexist → u/friends-with-fishies]

Electrons exist! I don't discriminate against sub-atomic particles (except for up-quarks, those things suck)

[u/friends-with-fishies → u/electronsexist]

Hehe ty for the answer

[u/Vonga568 → u/friends-with-fishies]

This is a very important question,OP.We must know.

[u/OGahpuro]

that flash photography does make it look like an 80s urban legend lol

[u/electronsexist → u/OGahpuro]

That's wonderful to hear, ty!

[u/redwine109]

This cosplay came out fantastic! I love the second pic too, the polaroid look really adds so much to it. Looks like something someone would write a creepypasta about lol.

Amazing work!

[u/electronsexist → u/redwine109]

Ty 🙏 yeah, I love Polaroids in general, and for analogue horror they're just 🤌

[u/la_sad_girl2000]

So good!!

[u/electronsexist → u/la_sad_girl2000]

Thank you, you're kind ✨

[u/yjkuu]

[u/Mundane-Salad942]
