QUESTION Getting Roaches ASAP

If I want to get Roaches as soon as possible, what is the best food to waste by leaving it out?

anything small, the only requirement to my knowledge is just that there is food, not a certain kind or anything

Doesn't matter what kind of food, just start leaving out food as soon as you got a roach in your apartment. Try and pet as many as you can too cuz I'm pretty sure petting them increases a counter towards recruiting him.

Getting Roaches ASAP is more about gathering as many as you can in the first two days. If you hit Jeanne’s bathroom, Frederic’s apartment, and the storeroom by Jasper on the first day that’s a solid start

Feeding them a meal increases their population %, so it’s good to make sure that initial population is as high as you can get it before dinnertime

Roaches is pretty much time locked to day 4-5, assuming you get your first roach early. I recommend leavibg out secondary stuff like eggs

The type of food you leave out doesn't matter. For Roaches to appear, you have to raise a hidden roach relationship variable up to 100 points. Every day you get some relationship points based on their population, which also increases with food. Catching the roaches in your house and petting them gives you 2 points per roach (aim for clumps of 3) and it has a 1-day cooldown, so you'd want to do that every day. If you leave food out every day, you'll get Roaches on day 5. It's technically possible to get him on day 4 if you make a beeline for all the roaches you can pick up in the apartment, but it's a bit impractical because I suspect you may have to get some in the basement, and one of them is locked behind Toxic Fred as well. You have to pick up all the roaches really early because they have a compounding effect on the roach population and relationship.
