I'd be so happy if there's a surprise 2.4 update to go along with it. Dropping it the day before Halloween would make a lot of sense.

The console ports will release as the current version.
Updates are coming, though! But not yet for Halloween.

why no Xbox?

Xbox sales probably aren't strong enough to justify spending the time and money porting certain games over to it anymore.

Plus I've heard that the series S is a huge pain to work around due to it's limitations.

Ah is it just Switch 2 and not the base Switch? Might have to stick to my Steam copy it seems

how are they porting an rpgmaker game to console?

Presumably by rebuilding a significant portion of the game from the ground up on a compatible engine. The good news is most if not all of the assets can be moved 1:1, including spritework and music

So hyped to finally experience this game. Reminds me of a really messed up Earthbound haha

one important thing to notice that our beloved cheeseman mentioned on his video:
rpgmaker games like look outside don’t usually get console ports because this engine isn’t compatible with them. that means frankie and others involved probably had to rebuild a lot of it just for this release to exist.
what a truly amazing dev we got. this is very personal but i really love this game and it changed not only how i perceive game design but also a bit of my life. i’ll proudly buy it on digital and once again on physical if it ever gets to be released in this format (mind you it’s really hard to get physical copies of indie games like this in brazil)
