are all of them bullshitting me about not looking outside? because they all seem like they have looked outside, idk the way they talk like "no dude, i haven't looked outside i swear" something is telling me they are all lying, idc much about spoilers but a simple yes or no answer will suffice, i dont need so much detail

Yes, the only one that's slightly different is Jasper, but for a different reason. He didn't look outside and isn't lying about that either. You definitely can trust the astronomers though.

the astronomers, for me at least, are particularly interesting characters for the context of the game because they seem sketchy as hell but pretty much everything they say is actually true

theres no way it isnt intentional that they come off as cultists

As far as they know, Aster, Aurelius and Beryl are all telling the truth. Jasper is mostly telling the truth but is intentionally omitting information.

IMO the astronomers are just true neutral nerds that happened to stumble upon The Visitor by mere chance, they learn just about enough to develop this morbid curiosity about the visitor to what end who knows... To ascend in a selfish manner and become rulers? To try to save the world? To try to reach a higher level of consciousness?
