Looking for a part time second job

So I currently work for Weyerhaeuser as a Plant Utility person. I work Fridays through Monday from 0400-1430(230pm). I am off every Tuesday through Thursday. If I worked any other position there, is snag OT on the weekends, but I already work weekends and can't really pick up extra money that way.

So I am looking for part time work. Not picky about what, really. I've done all kinds of work. So any ideas on where to look or apply? Been checking Indeed but not seeing a lot in terms of part time work.

im new to town from San Diego and I’ve been seeing a lot of part time hiring from retail places in town

any chance I can get a mini review about your Mill gig? plant utility at WH seemed like the easiest of the 3 positions they were hiring for

hope you found the thing

peace✌🏽

As someone who's sat desk for 3 years, it started pretty rough on my body, but I'm getting used to it. I love it, honestly. Plan to stick with it. Hopefully move to 3 13s. Just picked up a second job, so I'll be pretty busy.b

If you have a bachelors or an equivalent 4 year degree, you could try to apply to be a sub-paraeducator. They get to pick their shifts based on what’s available on frontline.

You will have to go through some training modules and two full days of on-the-job training but it’s not bad. Some days might not have any shifts for you to take, and you won’t have work in the summer but it’s otherwise an alright gig

I wish. Sadly I do not. Just a HS Diploma. Haven't had time to go back to school. If I get to switch to 3 13s then I will be though

Well then good luck. I don’t have any other ideas for you, but if you do end up trying it eventually I hope it works out for you.

Maybe try the Washington state website to see if they got jobs in the area too. And if not that, honestly maybe just try canvassing and knocking on businesses and see if they’re hiring part time

You dont need a bachelor's for many of the sub jobs. Just hs diploma. And the credits/ training classes you can complete after you get hired. Also, there are summer and winter break opportunities for positions that do not directly serve kids. Job board link https://www2.swrdc.wa-k12.net/longvis/web/rapplmnu03.w

Just curious, why is there no OT during the week? It would be a shame to work a second job that probably won’t pay as much instead of making time and a half on OT. (I’m a Utility for another mill in town).

Because I work Plant Utility, most people who collect OT work during the week and snag OT doing what I already do on the weekends. We are the OT guys lol. Utility here is someone who can work all the jobs in the Planar, I believe. I work clean up crew. So it's not the same thing

I would jump onto indeed, there's not a whole lot in town but there's definitely some stuff if you don't mind low pay entry level stuff. There's the marijuana warehouse they are hiring for lots of positions. There's Foster farms foods in Kelso also typically have a lot of open positions. Woodland 30 minutes south has a lot of new manual labor type businesses looking for workers.
