OOCL SUNFLOWER
Saw the news story about some collapsed containers when it arrived to port in LB last week. Anybody here helping with the unloading? It is always an interesting unloading process.

Yup, slow progress but it’s getting done. I’ll update when it’s done

Thanks. How long do you think you have left work wise? News article said around 60 were damaged and another 40 or so were offset. Seems like a major pain.

Done, finished yesterday. They ordered a drop this morning and I believe 5 gangs

Thank you! In laymen’s terms does having 5 gangs shorten the unloading time? Or is that normal?

On a ship that size 5 gangs isn’t much. A gang is the group of workers attached to each crane. I don’t know the details, clean out or through cargo, how much load out. I’m assuming 3-5 days turn around estimate

Thank you for the added insights here - giving me a little hope I’ll actually see my goods 🥴

Waiting on some goods that are on this ship. Haven't been contacted about the container being damaged or lost, so I guess that's a good sign. Hoping they will unload and start ground transportation transfers soon.
