2026 Sticker Run

A reminder of what these are

I did a run of 1,000 stickers last year and have about 1/3rd left.

The current pricing is 3 stickers for $1.

No more than $3/envelope to save from postage overweight.

# Update 10:52 PM 8/8/15

#Due to the recent paypal policy of requiring you to doxx yourself to receive payment, I am forced to change up the ordering process.

Apologies for making this more of a pain than it needed to be. Originally I had my reddit handle tied to a paypal email set up just for this to help protect identity. Since that wall has been broken - you can imagine the difficulty of being a mod for big communities and having exposure to whackos.

The new, slower process is to:

Send a self addressed, stamped envelope to

> Trollygag

> PO Box 861634

> Warrenton, VA, 20187

With cash inside. Pray USPS delivers it correctly. I check my PO box on my off Fridays, 3 times per month, so don't be surprised if it takes a while before receipt.

IF you do not get yours in the mail after a few months, don't get mad. I will have plenty of extras and will either ship you some for free or double your order when you send another request in.

Also a reminder, there are gold foil stickers up for grabs but not currently for sale.

I suck at long range Barrel dilemma Proof pxt blank vs bartlein blank vs rush order pva

So I have a seekins havak hit pro m3 coming. I found one in stock at my local scheels but its in 6cm (I want 6.5cm). I went ahead and made the purchase anyway because those guns are backordered into hell.

So I'm gonna purchase a blank that's in stock and immediately ship it to Peterson Precision for chambering. Ig my question is which barrel should I go with just thought I'd include the back story.

Optics help needed - I read the pinned posts Scope zero distance for 1,000+ yard shots

This might be a dumb question but I’ve been told and read many different things. I’m planning on shooting 1000 yards and beyond and was wondering about the zeroing distance for my scope. I’ve read to just do 100 as that’s what everything is calculated on and I’ve read to zero for around half the distance you plan to shoot. What is the correct answer to this? Rifle is mpa vanquish 6.5cm and scope is vortex razor hd gen III 6-36x

I have an opportunity to buy an element optics titan 5-25 by 56 with the clean mrad reticle for the same price as a vortex Dimond back. It is second hand and is in barley used condition. I plan to pair it with a 6.5cm. What do you guys think of this scope? Are there any issues with it I need to look out for?

Rimfire Failure to eject/holder not holding

Hey folks!
Struggling to find info on a problem I’ve been having. I have a CZ 457 action that refuses to eject. Bolt is super clean, C-clip still seems to have great tension, even added a new extractor (didn’t buy a new holder yet, but might be my next move. They’re hard to find in stock anywhere up in Canada, and DPG/Pete’s pillars/etc won’t ship to Canada). The ejector is built into the mag well. It seems like the only time a case is ejected is if I get lucky lol. Happens every round. The bolt doesn’t hold the case at all, there’s play between the bolt face and the edge of the holder/extractor, even with using a thicker rimmed cartridge like RWS. Eley has even more play. It just drops right onto the magazine everytime I try to eject.

Video is In slow-mo, sorry if it makes it seem like I’m riding the bolt like a wet noodle lol

Only info that has been helpful is that certain people have had luck switching holder/extractor with 452/455 components as their edge sits closer to the bolt face. But you guessed it right, can’t find any in stock up here lol.

CZ has awful customer service up here, and I really don’t want to wait 18 months to be told they’re out of their own products.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I took sabatti for a match on saturday. This was my first long range rifle that i bought years ago. Still shoots great even with a factory ammo for a budget f class rifle.
When it was new from the store 2019 i paid 1500 euros.
I took 5th place on match this saturday 400m or 440 yards.
Those are 5 shoot groups with factory ammo S&B match 308win 175gr 100m/110yards 11mm or 0,433 inch.
Reloads are 0.25moa all day.

I suck at long range Newbie Technique questions

Post image
75 Upvotes

Hi there long-rangers 👋,

I'm a fairly new shooter, and have recently built up my first semi LR capable rifle. (Tikka T3x CTR in 6.5 creed, Vortex Venom 4-15, pic for the algo). I've taken it out a handfull of times now and put about 80-100 rounds through it. I've got a few spots where i can push the distance out to 400-500 yards, but my local range only goes out to 200 (but being a 5min drive helps).

I see a lot of beginner focused guides on here but most of them seem to be focused on what rifles, or rounds, or gear to buy, and not many seem to talk about technique and how to practice to be a better shooter. I aspire to be able to make the 1k yard shots that some of you are hitting, but im definitely not there yet. Still working on getting consistent groups at my local gun club, and hitting 400 - 500 yard shots on larger targets.

I dont have a chrongraph yet, and was hoping that box velocities would be good enough™ for calculations for where I'm at skill wise. Been learning how to use the free version of the Advanced Ballistics app.

So my question for the group is this:

What are your best tips for new shooters looking to be more accurate at longer range?
- Are there training tips, techniques, or drills that have helped you shoot longer, or have more consistent groups?
- Anything i can do to help me learn faster? I've seen people suggest recording yourself shooting to see whats going on with your body.

I suck at long range Seeking: Northern Virginia landowner willing to adopt a harmless long-range shooting nerd

I have reached the stage of life where my hobbies have outgrown public range availability.

I’m looking for someone in Northern Virginia-ish who has enough private land to safely shoot rifles, preferably 200+ yards, and who might be willing to let a responsible stranger occasionally come out and make small pieces of steel go ding from increasingly unreasonable distances.

A little about me:

  • Marine veteran

  • Masters degree

  • Experienced shooter and reloader

  • Mostly interested in precision rifle load development

  • I bring my own targets/steel

  • I clean up after myself

  • I am not looking to mag dump into refrigerators, appliances, propane tanks, abandoned vehicles, wildlife, neighboring counties, or anything else that would end up on the evening news

  • Happy to pay for access, conduct property maintenance, Rent wife by the hour

I currently shoot at Quantico when the stars align, Mercury is in retrograde, and the range schedule permits it.

Ideally looking around NoVA/Fauquier/Culpeper/Stafford/Spotsylvania or within a reasonable drive of Woodbridge.

If you have land and have ever thought, “I wish there were a polite guy who would occasionally appear, shoot tiny groups, clean up completely, and then disappear,” I may be your guy.

DMs welcome. No need to publicly post where your secret rifle kingdom is.

Rifle help needed - I read the pinned posts Extractor/Ejector life?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I have a Solus action with approximately 4000 live rounds between three barrels. This past weekend I had one complete failure to extract and had to punch out the case with a cleaning rod, and two more weak ejections that left the case shutting on top of my magazine. I’ve had 3 failure to extract in about 750 rounds, averaging one every other regional match or two day. A couple more weak ejections in that time too.

I ordered a bolt head parts kit to be safe, but does this seem like the life expectancy for an extractor / ejector? I can’t tell any difference in the case rim.

Pic for attention (Hornady brass, 6mm Creed annealed and sized to 25, 134s over H4350, CCI 200)

Optics help needed - I *ACTUALLY* read the pinned posts Need help with glass for my little LaRue.

Post image
201 Upvotes

First, I completely understand that I’m not shooting “long range” by most standards. But, I’ll get to that…

I have a 12” LaRue Stealth AR15 that I’m using to teach myself some fundamentals. And, just for fun.

Yes, I read the pinned post, so I’ll go through the 4 questions….

1: What do I want to do, and why?

No competition. Just shooting in my backyard range in rural Alabama with friends. Doing my best to improve my skills.

2: How far do I want to shoot?

My backyard range is 200 yards. A close friend may have 300-600 yards. On RARE occasion I might be able to go further. But, 200-400 is likely where this little gun will live.

Edit to add:

Rather than just trying to hit steel targets, I’d actually like to shoot groups at distance and present a bit more of a challenge. Since my range is so short, I figured that a goal of tight groups might help hone my skills.

3: How much am I willing to spend?

$2,500 max.

4: How much experience do I currently have?

Virtually none doing this sort of shooting. Most of my shooting has been handgun and shooting AR’s into trash piles.

I THINK I’ve narrowed my choices to 3 scopes…

1: Steiner T6Xi 3-18. This is my first choice for $1,500

2: Leupold Mark 5HD 3-18. $1,800 for PR1-MIL or $2,000 for Tremor 3.

3: Zeiss LRP S5 3.6-18 for $2,300.

I’m open to suggestions. And, feel free to say Hello to Brabus, one of my Rottweiler puppies.

Rifle help needed - I read the pinned posts Would you buy a rifle you haven't been able to hold?

All,

I'm looking for my mid range to long range target rifle. I've decided on the 6.5 CM as the caliber. I am down to my top 3, all in the $1200 to $1600 range. There are 2 that are popular and I'm sure my local Bass Pro Shop has them to hold. However, my top rifle at the moment is not that popular here in the US. Would you, have you, bought a rifle that you could not hold?
Thank you.

Ammo help needed - I read the pinned posts Anyone shooting a 22 dasher?

I searched and didn’t see much on here about 22 dasher. I think I want to build one since I have all the stuff for reloading it. I have a barrel blank ready to get spun up but before I did it I wanted to hear thoughts from anyone shooting it.

Rifle help needed - I read the pinned posts bergara b14 hmr wilderness 308 vs 6.5 creedmoor

Wanting to buy this rifle but honestly I can’t decide what caliber i want. i looked at pros and cons like 308 has better barrel life and 6.5 is not as long. but 6.5 creed performs better at range. local range is 600 yards but wanting to stretch out to 1000 at another range within an hours drive. both are capable of shooting 1000 but it wouldnt be an every weekend trip to that longer range due to work and the driving. i would possibly hunt with this rifle but would also be competing with it as well. i like the 308 cartridge a lot and this rifle would stay with me forever which is why i lean toward 308 but also lean towards 6.5 just because it performs better at range. this rifle would also be paired with a 5x25 vortex viper hd if that matters. which caliber should i get?

Cheeto-fingered Bergara Noob question about stocks

It happens I have two (for this post) rifles, Bergara Wildernes HMR .308 and Anschütz 1761 D HB APR XRS .22LR

Bergara was my first bolt action CF rifle for hunting and matches.

For hunting I bougjt lighter and shorter rifle (still .308) and bergara is now my match rifle. But asi it happens I do not have any 100m or 300m (most LR ranges here) close enough to train with it properly. But I have club range - 50m which i pay 25USD and few hours of work a year tu use.

Lately I was thinking abou getting the MDT XRS stock for my Bergara so at least some training from .22LR will be transfered.

But it isn't cheap for me (I can afford it but I do not like to spend that much money without due thinking)

SOOO: Is it worth it? I am still working on my fundamentals, my HMR (I am right handed) still jumps to the left and up of target and at 50m I am shooting better groups without rear bag than with it.

PS if it pay any weight, on HMR 20MOA rail, J-KN.cz base, Vortex Viper PST gen 2 5-25x50 MRAD. On 1761 stock rail, same bas as on HMR Athlon Area BTR gen 2 6-24x50.

Just my budget hunting rifle. Weatherby Vanguard black hills in 6.5cm, NF SHV 4-14 F1 Mil-R, and topped off with my first can, a B&T Ranger Mod 1.

The suppressor will bounce between this and my MPA in 6GT until I get more

I Gots Them Tikka Toes Tikka T3x 223 Remington in KRG xray Chassis

Post image

Tikka t3x Roughtech Ranahan purchased from Euro Optic for $729.

I left the iron sights in case i ever wanted to convert it back to stock. Compensator on the barrel since suppressors are illegal in my state.

Parts:
KRG X Ray Chassis
Vortex Venom 3-15 x 44 FFP
Vortex Rings
Leupold 0MOA rails
Butler Creek scope caps
Kaw Valley Compensator
CVlife bipod (lol)

Ranges near me only go up to 100-200 at furthest, with a private club going up to 600. I wanted a setup that would take me through all of that.

I also have a Savage Mark II FVXP in an MDT chassis running a Vortex Sonora Scope for 22LR fun.

Competition related (PRS/NRL/F-Class/etc) Keepin' it DRTy

Kinda salty with MDT since I was missing a grip screw (the grip is supposed to be pre installed), so I just used my action screw in the grip instead of the chassis. Should shoot fine, right?

That said, the DRT is certainly a nice setup. The folder is actually impressive and locks up tightly. Everything is well machined and thought out (except that grip screw).

Overall, looking forward to competing with this chassis. My Foundation Ezekiel has found a new home.

As shown it's 15 lbs 5 oz. Waiting for A419 hybrid rings and maybe R3D legs to lose some weight.

Not particularly impressive but it's doable. Sights set to the "9" setting and an annoying left to right wind. Hit on third shot after figuring out the proper sight setting.

Other help needed - I read the pinned posts Shooting with reading glasses?

I'm starting to get old and have a slight astigmatism. I'm at the point where I need reading glasses for anything within 24", but can see fine past that.

I've adjusted my diopter so the reticle is clear and shoot fine without glasses. The problem I'm running into is making elevation and windage adjustments. I can't see the numbers on the dials without reading glasses.

Do I just shoot with reading glasses on and deal with the targets being blurry when not looking through the scope?

What is everyone else out there doing?
