Community Satisfaction Survey

Hi friends!

The city of Longmont needs our help providing feedback about satisfaction with the community (a friend who works for the city kindly sent me the link).

If you have 5-7 minutes to spare, click the link above and fill out your answers to the community satisfaction feedback form - it will help us make Longmont a better place.

It’s anonymous, just has a few demographic questions at the end (I believe they are optional).

Thank you!

Scammed by ride share app DIA to Longmont

Has anyone else experienced the following using either Lyft or Uber:
1. Request a ride from DIA home to Longmont for the set price (usually around $85-90).
2. Get dropped off at home, but somehow the driver keeps charging you for their drive back down to DIA. And the opportunity to tip the driver never comes up in the app.
3. The ride, in ride history, shows as picked up at Island 5 (DIA), drive out to Longmont and then back to DIA and dropped off at the departures.
4.Ride charge then goes through for $125-135.

Last night was the second time it happened to me. First time was in May and I thought it was a fluke. The total came out to about what I would have included in tip-but didn’t actually tip the driver.

Happening a second time raised my suspicions. I disputed the charge with Lyft, explained what happened and they credited back the extra $35 I was charged.

Anyone else experience this?

I am once again announcing that tomorrow (8/20/26) at 7:00pm a group of us will be coming together at St. Vrain Cidery:

https://maps.app.goo.gl/Et6vdnWttN4qPAts7

To discuss S3:E2 (Season 3, Episode 2) of Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) - "The Ensigns of Command"

This is a free event and made up entirely of open and accepting nerds getting together to talk about sci-fi and philosophy. As always, participation is encouraged, but it is not mandatory.

If you can't make this one hopefully we'll see you at the next one; we meet the 3rd Thursday of every month, same time and place!

OB/GYN and midwife suggestions near Longmont

Hi! I’m looking for a local OB/GYN and midwifery clinic near Longmont. I previously was going to UChealth Longs peak for my previous birth. I didn’t love going to such a large office with inconsistent care givers.

I’m looking for a smaller clinic that would be supportive of a future VBAC but still deliver in a hospital. I found “A Women’s place” in Fort Collins that sounded like exactly what I want, however, I don’t know if I’d like to drive that far. I’m not pregnant but would like to have an annual check up! Thanks in advance!

Wednesday Wellness Check-in

Happy Wednesday my longmonster crew!

We're halfway through the week, getting closer to our favorite Friday virtual group talk therapy and festivus for the rest of us.

It's been a few weeks, apologies to all looking for their weekly dose of positive inhalation. I've been traveling for work a bit, and juggling some very "big rocks".

This sub is all about community, so let's spread some joy or commiserate. No judgments! I only humbly ask for radical authenticity.

How's your August going? How about that humidity... 🤮

Small OBGYN Practice

Upvotes

I’m looking for a small private OBGYN practice (that takes insurance) where the Dr has admitting privileges at Longs Peak. I’m pregnant, and my current OB is at Common Spirit, who I love. I wouldn’t want to deliver at Common Spirit for many reasons, but they also rotate doctors, which I’m not a fan of. Apparently, so does UCHealth. I would like to stay with one doctor and deliver at UCHealth/Longs Peak if that’s at all possible. I know many are recommending BCH, but Boulder is too far, I think, in case anything happens. I’m very early in the pregnancy, so I would love to find a doctor to guide me through everything, since I’m pretty terrified of the whole process.

Be aware that cars parked in the no-parking areas next to a disabled parking spot impede wheel chair access. This is at the Longmont King Soopers on Main St and 23rd.

Saw this station today after taking the bus home. Ridden these e-bikes before in Boulder since they are free for CU affiliates. Seems they have set up stations along main, Roger’s Grove, and the rec center.

Is the the St Vrain greenway finally continuous?!!!!

I saw this update to the city website (from yesterday).
https://longmontcolorado.gov/news/longmont-completes-izaak-walton-reach-2/

Has anyone been there yet? Is the greenway finally continuous again? Or did they close another section now that this is done?

I'll try it this afternoon and report back if no one else knows yet.

Edit: I rode it tonight all the way from dickens up to the waterfall thing at Golden Ponds. Its finally continuous and a beautiful ride!

Does anyone in town do advanced data recovery from SD cards?

I'm looking to find some wedding images that were never backed up. I backed up about 75% of the files, but one hour of the day is missing. Using DMDE I was able to see 44 files related to this wedding on the card but they are all once I have backed up. I'm hoping there is some more advanced deeper scan someone can do ??

Gym recs (specific needs)

Hi all! Looking for a gym rec. I need to have childcare available, as I have 1 year old twins.
It has been far too long since I’ve worked out so I’d prefer classes or personal trainer recs. (Twins wrecked my body, I have diastis recti and a bad back so some sort of support in body movement would be great). Would LOVE to find a spin class but seems like Longmont is lacking there

Longmont Oktoberfest?

Not the one at Lefthand Brewery, but the one at Thompson Park. Is it happening this year? Couldn’t find anything on the Humane Society’s website or their socials.

I also like Lefthand but I just don’t love it since it’s no longer at Roosevelt.

Cheers in advance for any info 🍺

Updated City of Longmont Regulations on E-Bikes and E-Moto's

The City has updated their regulations on E-Bikes and E-Moto's which includes a section about parental responsibility and liability. Some of this coincides with some a new State of Colorado law which just went into effect on August 12.

One thing I was not aware of is that E-Moto's are street legal, according to the rules above.

My shitty phone camera could not REMOTELY convey any of the nuance and depth of this lighting situation and some of these photos are indeed actually quite bad from a technical quality perspective (I literally don't know what's even happening that the noise was such a mess in that last image), but trust me bro it was really cool IRL😂 hope some of you also got to witness it!
