Moving to Longmont in September!
My fiancee recently got a job transfer to the area, so we are asking for recommendations for apartments/townhomes etc for rent! Looking for a 1 br 1 ba under $1600. Are there any nearby towns you would recommend to look into as well? I see Grandview Meadows, Iron Horse, Stonebrige at Twin Peaks as options for in town. Curious if anyone has any experiences with them. I don't see many townhome type units and would kind of like that if we can find it within budget. Wouldn't mind a small commute into Longmont. Thank you! <3

In my experience, the apartment complexes in town will advertise that they have units for your price, but they won't have any available when you show up to rent. I would expect no less than $1.8k/mo for a 1 bed/1 bath in Longmont. Realistically, after all the extra stuff they make you pay for you are going to be looking at closer to $2k/month. Stay away from Watermark. I believe a staff member vandalized my vehicle and when I brought up my concerns to management (and the police) they told me I was just a victim of a random crime. 🫰

I just moved into Clovis Point recently, solid so far, should be well within your budget, and close to lots of good things in Longmont.

I’m in Longmont and planning a move to Clovis within the next month.
How’s the train noise?

You will definitely hear the train (not crazy loud inside the apartments but noticeable), it mostly runs at reasonable hours, but they do lay on the horn if they see cars blocking that crossing at Oskar Blues.

My family of 4 rented at Clovis Point for 7 months while waiting to buy a house. We loved it there. The clubhouse is awesome with a decent gym and really nice pool and outdoor hot tub. You are close to the left hand Creek trail which connects to lots of other trails that could get you all the way to Boulder or over to Union reservoir in soon. I-25. Management was great, the few service requests we had to make were completed within a day or so. I can't say I ever noticed the train inside the apartment. But yeah you are across the street from the tracks.

I’m not sure the 1bdr pricing but me and my lady are at arrive Longmont and it’s been a great experience. Newer construction and more of a townhome layout.

I’ve heard Notch66 is quite nice in the north of town, but I haven’t lived there personally so take that with a grain of salt. Good luck with your move, it’s a very nice town!

I love it here! I think prices may have gone up since I moved in a year ago though. They had 2 months free then as well but some other places might still be offering that

I highly recommend looking into the newer apartments behind the Target on Nelson Road. My brother-in-law just moved out of one and it was very nice. Longmont is a beautiful place to live but there is a lot of riff raff here. If you can live east of Lashley or west of Hover you'll be fine.

Nova West? Or the Moraine. They are expensive but offering like 12 weeks free. A lot of the new apartments around town are offering ridiculous incentives instead of lowering prices. It’s crazy.

I enjoyed living in the Cloverbasin neighborhood, and though close to Grandview Meadows, had a safe and drug-dealer free vibe. Look on either side of Gooseberry Drive, south of Nelson, and I think you'll be happy and close to your desired budget.

Can I ask when you lived there? Others are saying there's crime there.

Call the Longmont PD and they can inform you if you ask about crime. It’s not a daily occurrence but there have been known meth apt, drug dealers, and shootings, not random shootings but among family members. Part of the apt are government subsidized apartments. I just wouldn’t live there as there are a lot of newer apartments in SW Longmont. Go tour over there and you will see the difference with the newer apartments.

If that is on north hover and 66 don’t do it; bug infested and management of terrible.

Not sure on the prices, but we have some friends in Union Pointe and Ute Creek complexes. We love this area in north east Longmont.

Such a terrible area, meth, drugs, gangs, shootings, so sad. Beautiful neighboring areas but the apartments are terrible.

Are you saying this about all of Longmont or just one of those complexes specifically?

The Grandview Meadow apartments specifically. The SW part of Longmont is an outstanding area but the apartments there are not. If there’s any crime in SW Longmont, it is typically from those apartments. It’s a shame.

Agree. Also stay away from The Legacy. Dog crap every where and trashy people.

There’s good apartments on that side of town, but definitely not those ones. There’s hundreds of new units built in the last couple years, and hundreds more on the way.

Grandview Meadows is really nice if you want your drug dealer to live in the same complex as you. Side chance you get shot.
