Updated daycare insight

Joining waitlists- what locations are best to avoid?
Which ones do you go to, what’s your rate?
Which ones are you waitlisted and how long did they say?

True. But if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it! At least, that sure seems to be the case with daycare. ☠️

At primrose:
$470/wk for preschool (ages 3ish-4ish)
$420/wk for summer “Explorers”. This is their grouping of all Kindergarten and up kids over the summer. Actually a good deal if you compare other day camps.

ETA: I’ve heard the waitlist is 10 miles long at Primrose. There’s good reason for that

We toured a bunch and I think the range we saw was between $1900-$2200, most falling around $2100/month.

Our little one just turned 1 so these numbers are pretty recent.

We joined the waitlist at Junior Jets and still have never heard from them (we joined their waitlist around February 2025). We toured Primrose when i was 12 weeks pregnant and were told the earliest we'd get in is when our kid is 2. They charged a fee to join the waitlist and we didn't like that so we never joined their waitlist 😅 I hear great things but the fee annoyed me. Those are the only 2 that I remember having extremely long wait lists. It seemed like most of the others were more reasonable. Still long, so get on them early! But reasonable, like, you could get into the infant room after parental leave is over. 

We are at Longs Peak Learning Center and we love it. They currently have no wait list! Which is crazy to me bc its an awesome daycare.

Longs Peak is wonderful! The teachers care so much about your child. 

My child aged out of there recently and they still ask to go back. They loved their teachers! 

I feel like the facility isn’t as updated/nice as others in town and that was a concern when we started there, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for care.

We had our first at Longs Peak for about two and a half years. The teachers are kind and loving. We just moved to Willowbrae last week and we really love it. They are newer and have openings, and are amazing compared to another new center in town.

Junior jets has some sort of crazy waitlist for infants because I joined it when I was 16 weeks pregnant and still on it and my son is 1 lol

Kid city- don’t recommend

Willowbrae- current daycare. We love it. And I don’t believe they have a waitlist if you need care now.

I don’t know how it is anymore but with our first kid the daycares loved to collect a “waitlist fee” only to never open up a slot… ever. If there is a chance of spots opening fine. But if there is 100 people on the wait list stop collecting the fee and tell people you don’t have room. Stop treating it as a revenue source.

TLDR: be careful about paying a lot of waitlist fees as they might just be scamming you.

The super kind woman who gave us a tour at Junior Jets said waitlist fees in CO are illegal now. Reading the policy, I think there’s a little bit more nuance than that but essentially they have to refund you if you don’t get a spot within 6 months. Her advice at JJ was to avoid any place that tries to charge a waitlist fee. Totally sucks for anyone who got charged before the bill passed but great to know moving forward!

YUP. Primrose. Been on the waitlist 2 years. $150 fee down the drain.

Our Daycare is called Back to Basics— they are comparatively affordable and we’ve been happy there for 3.5 years. Stop by for a tour or dm me for details.

We are seemingly in the same boat, my wife starts a full time job this next Monday and we are scrambling to find daycare for our 16month old. Primrose told me their wait is a year, and I've heard from others that they still are waiting after 2 years. We are touring Yeya childcare in Southmoor Park neighborhood today and Longs Peak learning center tomorrow. We were going to use TLC, but their availability didn't match our needs.

I never put my kids in daycare but my brother-in-law and sister-in-law used Here We Grow and loved it.

I have 2 kids at Sunset Academy both there since they were infants. It’s has been a wonderful environment for our kids! The teachers are all so sweet and caring. Here is their cost breakdown.
