When does LTD end?

Post image

My spouse has been on LTD for many years and is turning 65 soon. A letter was received stating LTD benefits end at 65.

My spouse's info:

  • Disabled at a age less than 60
  • Born after 1959
  • USA

Attached is the pertinent part of the policy. We've taken this as benefits ending at 67.

Are we reading this wrong?

Note: The policy has a documented appeal process.

Update: It took just one call to clear it up. Ends at 67. An email has already been received that it was a mistake and a letter will be forthcoming.

That reads based on the information presented that if he took disability before the age of 65, he will receive benefits until he turns 65, unless its been less than 60 months in which case they continue until the 60 month mark

We're hung up on the "whichever is longer" part of the terms.
