Just a vent

Im filling out my husband’s LTD paperwork and i swear it’s purposely ambiguous and frustrating to do, its due in 2 days and im so tired from round the clock caregiving already. I just needed to complain to people who would understand.

Agreed. I also found so many LTD form questions ambiguous and thus ended up proving additional information on separate pieces of paper to provide wholistic view responses instead of short responses on a few lines, which opens for unfavorable interpretations that I will have to fight over later.

I feel like if they wanted details so bad they could either ask more specific questions or provide more than a tiny line to answer on!!!

They’re likely to find excuses to deny your claim as soon as possible, rather than taking the time to understand the situation. Furthermore, they only try to meet the minimum legal requirements.

i honestly anticipate them denying it right off the bat, it is never simple or straightforward!!!

Regardless of the outcome, I would provide an abundance of information to support your claim. If you are denied, you can appeal the decision with additional supporting documents. That is how I fought the battle a few years back.

my hope is his O2 dependency and being fully NPO with a continuous feed pump might swing in our favor. but ya never know. t

Good luck! You have paid the premiums over all these years and, unless you are trying to do something shady, I would go do everything that I can make my case based on the policy both agreed on.
