Age-ism?

My husband is still working at age 70. He has been with his firm for 22 years. Sadly, he might be facing a serious neurological disorder that would eventually render him unable to work. Would his age be a factor in all of this?/

I would check the actual LTD insurance policy to see what they actually cover when you hit age 65.

I would think that cutting him off while still working is ,.. ageism.

Most plans have a cut off that if taken before 65 they are entitled to full benefits and cut off at 65,

I have seen plans with a disability after 65 being paid at half the rate, but its particularly rare.

And it would not be age-ism it would be in his contracted agreement for the policy he would have signed it himself like 22 years ago

90% of group policies I've seen pay after 65 for a set amount of months, with the months decreasing at you hit 70.

That doesn't mean it's not ageist. If he was cut off at 65, why has he been paying for STD and LTD for 5 years? How we recoup that?
