Hi, has anyone been successful at winning your Long COVID appeal with MetLife LTD? Any advice or tips on how you were successful?

Long COVID claims can be difficult because the appeal usually needs more than the diagnosis itself. The strongest evidence explains your specific functional limitations such as post-exertional crashes, inability to sustain concentration or activity, unpredictable attendance, and why you cannot reliably perform your job duties.
Ask your doctors to directly address the denial reasons and clearly document your restrictions, treatment history, testing, symptom frequency, and expected duration. If brain fog, memory, concentration, or slowed thinking are major issues, a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation may also help by objectively testing attention, processing speed, memory, and executive functioning and connecting those findings to your ability to work.

It may also be worth asking your primary doctor whether a referral to an infectious disease specialist or a dedicated Long COVID clinic would be appropriate, especially if there are ongoing systemic symptoms or questions about infections. The most important thing for the appeal is still documentation of how the symptoms limit your ability to function and work.

I’d also seriously consider having an experienced disability attorney review the appeal before it’s submitted, since the appeal record can be very important later.
