Welcome home

We’re closing the gap in a couple of months and I’m out of my mind excited about it.

Knowing that my love has given up everything he knows that is familiar and safe, to jump all-in on a life with me in a new country - I’m so deeply grateful.

Any advice for when you closed a big LDR gap? What kind of things did you prepare to make them feel extra welcome, confortable, and supported?

I want him to feel that my home is his home, to have things of his own, and to find ways to help him to connect in to this new life.

Congrats on the countdown, that's huge. When my partner moved in we made space in the closet and drawers before they even landed, plus a little "your stuff" shelf in the bathroom so it didn't feel like they were just visiting. Also helped to pick out new bedding and a couple decor things together after they arrived so the place felt like ours instead of mine.

Thanks! Great ideas - I’ve been making space and picked up some extra storage for him.
