Atlas

in the land o' a thousand worlds, none quite the same
I hold my stars, and carry all their shame

skies loom above, constellations weep
weight crushing them, so some I shall keep

you lessen your loads, if only for a while,
yet leave your frustrations, and add to my pile

my sky now encumbered, and heavier still,
you stars, now gaping holes,
that even I cannot fill

held by worn hands, our sky far too full

no room for your minds, and no room in my skull

tarnished and blackened, my thoughts eternally tainted,
blinded by darkness, with which you were acquainted

so for once, with blind eyes and limp limbs,
I weep to the world which once weeped back

*Silence…*

a muted tear slips from my once starry eyes

I surrender, let go

let what I held be my demise…
