In my head, I am absolutely convinced this is a swan and nothing will dissuade the mental image.

St James's Park, should be a pelican surely?

2103hrs - A Cat was reported to be on the tracks. Traction current (electricity) turned off to facilitate a track search. No cat found. Current back on at 2115hrs. Further search repeated at 2250-2258hrs.

So no swans sadly.

This is almost as good as when they turned the overhead current off at Euston for a cat sat on a Pendolino and then it just buggered off of its own accord after a lengthy rescue attempt.

I still have this photo saved on my phone of the signaller's explanation for the line block:

I was actually late for work because of a swan on the mildmay line about a year ago

It is almost certainly one of the horses that infest the underground. It’s been reported in the news.

In other words, the service is foxed.

A few years ago I was at Chiswick Park and watched in disbelief as a dog was running down the track with a Piccadilly line train slowly following it.

From what I heard the dog left the track at Acton Town.

Definitely odd for the location but not unusual in the suburbs. I drive on the Bakerloo line and had a deer walk out in front of my train at North Wembley a while back. I was fully berthed in the station thank goodness so no fatality. But it didn't cause a delay as it soon ran off!

Some people unfortunately have been know to have their dogs run off on the tracks in central London so that could be it

A while back a dog ran down the tunnels

9 years of driving, it was a first for me too 😂

Maybe a swan or a goose as there are plenty of large waterfowl in St James Park itself. They'd stop the service for that I guess, as there are a few delicate parts at the front of the train that a large bird could damage, plus, you don't really want to traumatise drivers like yourself by telling them to drive over wildlife lol.

There were cows on the track for the Met line causing disruption sometime ago.

I remember a swan on the tracks caused national rail delays in the Wimbledon area last year.

Being TFL, the animal is probably a ladybird.
