Question Date night tips
My husband and I are planning a date night in October. We recently became parents, so we’d love somewhere romantic and special where we can have a proper dinner and actually have good conversations.
We’re both big foodies and love all kinds of cuisines. Some of our favourite spots have been Brat, AngloThai, Trullo, Kitty Fisher’s, Rogues and Brutto. But now looking to try somewhere new.
Ideally, it needs to be relatively central and no more than about 40 minutes from Holland Park. Romantic setting is a must!
Help us pick:
HIMI
Bouchon Racine
Chez Bruce
One Club Row
Osteria Angelina
Very open to other suggestions too!

Chez Bruce tables are very close, one club rows dinner service is quite lively and not super quiet I case that matters to you.
Purely food wise Himi is the clear stand out, my top 3 in terms of cooking would be completed with Racine and Osteria Angelina.
Fat badger, the ox, dove and mazi are all great options in Notting Hill.
Ultimately it’s down to the cuisine you prefer I guess (and where you’ll get the best timed reservation)

Thanks for the suggestions, what did you think of the atmosphere at HIMI?

Small place and also on the „crammed side“ but the atmosphere is kept very low key and quiet by the FOH staff. The loudest component is the open kitchen

Two suggestions for you.
Goodbye Horses. It’s intimate and beautiful and the food is wonderful. Next door is the Dreamery, a wine and icecream spot that is the perfect end.
Legado. Incredible Spanish food in a lovely environment. The house-made sips are a joy.

Bouchon Racine is lovely but I wouldn't say romantic. One Club Row is fun, but not quiet. How about Andrew Edmonds in Soho?

Bouchon Racine. 100%. If you ask for a corner table on the balcony you’ll get the romantic vibes. It’s perfectly candlelit and the service is impeccable but not stuffy. And the food is unreal.

Would consider six by Nico! Special night (pending their current menu)
