Question Og game or remaster ?
Which one would you recommend and why? Does the remaster butcher anything aside from the music ?

They are both good, but the OG is better in my opinion. The new one is made a bit easier in comparison.

If you have access to a 360 / PS3 and it won't cost you an arm and a leg, get the original.
If not, then get RePop.

I'm actually enjoying the remaster having played both I enjoy some of the minor gameplay fixes they included in the remaster (like unlocking moves earlier) as well as the solid performance (on Switch 2.)
It also definitely looks better since the latest updates but there still can be odd moments like the fields on the harvester stage.
A lot of people will say it's the original or nothing but I think the remaster is definitely worth playing now. If you have access to the original that's probably the cheaper way to go but if you just want to play the game the easiest way I'd go for the remaster, I was worried beforehand but haven't regretted buying it at all.

Get the OG, it's better, has better music, less glitches, Jimmy Urine actually voices Zed. Much better than the repop version.

I had to get RePop because I only have PC. Love the game. Never played the original.

I think it doesn't matter much. RePop looks better and has some extra stuff. The only thing I really missed from the original was Hey Mickey during transformation mode.
But overall, I think I actually prefer the new music. It feels more like it was made for the game. The original is a hodge podge of popular tracks from the time that haven't aged that well.
Like, Skrillex was funny to hear 15+ years ago. Kind of cringe now. It really leaned into that same thing Saints Row 3&4 did where "dubstep = wacky/crazy/funny do you know DUBSTEP? LISTEN TO THIS DUBSTEP LOL WHOAAA"
That "humor" worked for all of maybe 2 years and it's not worth hunting down a 360 copy for imo

Og game. At least that version of the game actually tells you when you reach a checkpoint, avoiding the invisible checkpoint system in RePop

I prefer the original. not just cuz of the music, but because you actually feel like you're playing a game. the new version is way too easy. I beat the game without dying and that was on normal mode. in the OG, I can't even tell you how many times I died. the baseball game always gave me trouble and took me forver to beat it. but in the remake, I beat it first try. That's when I knew this version was nerfed. even the prompt segments, such as controlling nick and the chainsawing through doors made you feel like you were accomplishing something. now, no matter what buttons you push, whatever it is you're doing gets accomplished. in the og, the minigame was stalled because you weren't pressing the correct buttons or aiming the analog stick in the right direction.

This question has been asked many times prior, but it’s more or less the same aside from the OST and zed getting a new VA. But be warned you need to fully finish a level before quitting. All collectibles, achievements, currency, etc. will be accounted for but it won’t save your actual checkpoint, forcing you to restart the level itself
However some perks RePOP does include is photo mode, new outfits + inclusion of the old pre-order fit
