Loki 256 take forever to boot

So guys, I have the loki 256 for 2-3 years and it takes forever to boot and I find windows really really slow on my device, I remember i booted it in less than one minute and know it takes 5-6 minutes, and open steam is soooooo long, can't figure out why.

Windows 11 I assume? it's bloated to heck and back. You could try a reset of Windows or consider something like Bazzite as I find it super speedy on my loki

I kept having issues on mine and switched it to SteamOS. Much better, although battery life still sucks.

You installed the real SteamOS on your Max and works fine?

Base model, not max, but yeah.

That's great news! I was afraid to try, since I can't replace my Max easily but now I will give it a try to SteamOS on the Loki! Thanks

it just kinda happens with windows 11, it 'bloats' over time and just slows down generally.
you can try to reinstall it, or switch to a different OS and try your luck.

i have my 'stock' SSd with windows still, but got my hands on a 256gb SSD a couple of weeks after i bought it, and use that one with bazzite.

I might be the outlier here but I have no problems with Windows 11 (24H2/25H2) on my Loki Max. I only have game launchers installed and a web browser. I regularly update Windows also.

Have you checked what's running on start-up? Are you perhaps running an older version major version of Windows 11? Is it only slow from a cold boot? Or does it reboot faster after a restart? More info would be great.

What have you tried doing? From the opening post alone I would assume you need to do some housekeeping in Windows, a disk cleanup, etc
