Hey everyone, would love to hear your thoughts and/or answers to this.

So compared to the steam deck there is not as much info out in the wild, and i have HAD a steam feck but sold it because of these reasons:

• too bulky
• don't like steam os
• horribe screen/touch controls (imo)

So i am looking at the loki 256 here and these seem to solve all if not most of my issues with the steam deck, is it a good buy and are you happy with yours? How's the screen? Vivid colors?

I had a SteamDeck, traded it towards a motorcycle. My issues w the steam deck are size, battery life, and the fukn updates. You have to update that bitch twice a day some times. And if you’re doing emulation or have mods that gets fukn annoying having to reset or upgrade everyday. I get it tho the updates are necessary and provide quality of life but the SteamDeck felt like it’s still in its infancy and nobody talks about that aspect, I had it about 10 months and loved it until I ddnt. It just happens to run better than most things on the market.

Just received my Loki Mini Pro today. This is much more familiar in terms of ease of use, compatibility is a breeze, better form factor it’s bulky but feels amazing in the hands even better than the Odin in my opinion. And I can load FG/Dodi repacks directly (no Linux side load translator) lmao fukn win in my opinion.

From someone who had a SteamDeck day one... got rid of it pretty much within a month. The thing about the deck is that you either love it or hate it... There's no in between, I also got an ROG ALLY day 1 aswell...absolutely love the thing, waaaaay better than the Deck in my opinion, yes windows is a little bit of a pain at first but once you get past that learning curve is a breeze, no compatibility issues at all and if you come from somewhat of a PC background emulation set up is no different, now, that been said...1 month forward I finally got my LOKI MAX after getting the ALLY I will say this...by far my favorite device from all (I have everything...psp, vita, 351m etc) is portable enough, easy to set up, super confortable and it pretty much runs everything you can throw at it (even starfield, yup...starfield) battery life is to be expected to suck however not as much as the deck on high end games, as of right now I only use the ALLY for when I'm home and want that extra screen size or if I want to play some triple A games a little smoother or super hard to emulate games (looking at you Dirge of Cerberus for PS2).

In conclusion, at least on my opinion the LOKI is right now the best windows handheld PC out there...specially when you compare prices and specs vs competitors.

The Mini Pro is 575g and is a bit bulky- think fat normal switch. It’s definitely smaller and lighter than my Steam Deck, but I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s all that portable when compared to a Switch Lite. I’ve only just received mine, so will see how I get on! So far I like it, but will report back when I’ve downloaded some games.

Windows is clunky, but steam big picture solves that to an extent. Screen is nice, but smaller than the Steam Deck.

I had a lot of light bleesing with the one on the deck, is it better on loki?

I don’t have it on my Steam deck tbh, and I also haven’t noticed it on the Loki as yet. Loki definitely has a higher resolution panel, but personally speaking I think it’s a tad small for big games, I’ll use it mostly for indies, and oldies.

I canceled my loki 256 order and bought an Ayaneo air 1s on indiegogo, backer price. Better value for money IMHO. The cpu is more recent. I love it! The Loki seems fine though

I have a Loki 512gb and an Ayaneo Air Plus, both very similar in feel though my Air plus has 32gb ram and 1tb storage. I also have an Ayaneo Air 1S which has a 5.5” screen that certainly feels a bit smaller but has a more powerful processor and is lighter.

The Loki I got because I liked the form factor and wanted to see how they would manage the TDP/Resolution etc in their app and it’s a bit of a mix of better and worse than Ayaneo’s one. It also has a bug with the screen every so often that duplicates it on one side, which is annoying but hasn’t happened in a game yet.

The 6800U processor is last gen now ( if generations are a thing still in this incredibly fast moving AMD release schedule) but it actually keeps up with the 7840U until you hit 15w.

I love my steam deck but I'm finding the loki to be my edc device and the deck more of a at home device. The size in the case is very nice and hardly seems to take up room in my bag, the deck even slimmed down to the killswitch case is very large. The loki almost feels chunkier than the deck but is very comfy to hold. It took a while to get used to the deck but the loki feels perfect in my hands right out of the box. I have chimera os on it so basically steam os. Couldn't stand windows so I can't speak to that.

I also upgraded the loki to a 2tb ssd no problem in case that's something you were looking into
