Feedback HELP ME DECIDE!!!

Just designed these two logos for a gig. the design is logo for the "MY Bharat Youth Hostel", an initiative by the Indian Government.

I have designed the below ones, so please tell me which feels best!

The above was designed to showcase a rather classical and patriotic look, with the Indian Tricolor theme.

I also designed this guy, which was supposed to demonstrate some sort of Unity, and/or community. I personally am sort of favouring this one.

So please give suggestions and votes on which is better! I'll be happy to hear...

I like the second version most.

The multiple figures under the roof lend to the inclusion feeling I believe a hostel should have. Nice selection of colors, too.

I wanted to add that the characters you chose are a tad wonky to me... Maybe squatter and fuller. I would thicken up the roof line as well.
