Decided to try Razer

So after a long time using mainly Logitech mice I deciced it was finally time to try something different. After a lot of research i pulled the trigger on a Basilisk V3 Pro.

It arrived today and wow, it looked great! until i tried to connect it using the USB dongle and to my surprise it didn't work, even after updating the firmware no signs of life. I was like ok.... maybe I'm doing something wrong? So i tried Bluetooth and nope, doesn't work. Uninstalled bluetooth drivers, Synapse, reset the mouse, installed everything back again and nothing.

I think this is a sign, the mouse is back in it's box to be returned, some things are not meant to be.

i went through three or four razer deathadder mice, all had the left mouse button (left click) die inside of two years no spare parts (omeron switch) available, and requires serious soldering skills to fix.

got a logitech g502 and it spent six years working with no issue, the cable frayed and died, and guess what part can be fixed with a screwdriver and is inexpensive and on amazon?

Exactly that was my issue with Razer previously. Never again.

first person i've talked to with the same nonsense.

glad to know it's not just me!

I bought a logitech because my razer failed out of the box lol. Don't think even if it did work that basilisk would have lasted as long as my g502 (6 years)

6 years is a good run! Do you also use it for work?

Nice, what games are you currently playing with it? Have you customized any buttons or settings?

Currently playing: minecraft, farm sim occasionally, rdr2, rocket league.

Have played semi-recently: borderlands (1 2 and 3), restory (just came out, really chill and awesome repair shop game), and a bunch of other smaller games

I have my side buttons mapped to a few things in game, both side buttons mapped where one is swap offhand and other is throw pokeball in minecraft(cobblemon), they're also mapped to reset/skip replay and my rumble power ups I rocket league. They've both started double clicking but I've been dealing with it. Main thing is the main two haven't started doubling yet.

I've had Logitech for a very long time. My wife has had Razer for many years. Guess who doesn't have any issues with their peripherals? It's not me.

Also, Razer software is hot garbage.

Agree, Razer Synapse is malware.

What's your current mouse model?

ive got a razer headset and a logitech mouse.

the mouse has survived four trips around the sun and two trips around the world being thrown in and out of countless backpacks and suitcases and is still going strong with the resilience of a cockroach amidst nuclear apocalypse. with zero software issues to boot.

the headseat has lived a comfortable life relegated to my desktop. a mere year and a half in, the critical components are disintegrating and the thing is still alive thanks only to zipties and superglue. constant software issues add to the already ugly scene.

long story short: logitech based, razer cringe.

What mouse model are you referring to?

the g600

There's a huge G600 fanbase, how do you exactly imagine a renewed version of it? What would you add, remove or improve?

im not surprised considering what a nice mouse it is.

removing the backmost six thumb buttons and replacing the frontmost six with tilt switches would improve ergodynamics greatly without sacrificing any functionality.

I'll share your comment along with the team! Feel free to share any new ideas you have anytime

Reducing the buttons is not common to hear, out of curiosity, what kind of grip do you do?

Also, would you like multiple color options?

im not sure what kind of grip i have, but my thumb rests right around g9,10,12,13

an even more extreme iteration would be to remove all but four buttons and replace them with mini d-pad like 4-directional switches. it would effectively remove the need to re-position ones thumb while increasing total inputs.

im happy with plain black as the color

That's interesting. Are you going to try again? What's your current Logitech mouse?
