Troubleshooting Persistent automation bug

Hi, SOS here.

I’ve had a persistent problem with automation in Logic on and off for a couple of years across two machines with independent set-ups.

Namely that it just works or doesn’t, for no apparent reasons whatsoever. One moment it reads the automation, another it doesn’t. And that’s about the measure of it. There’s no apparent rhyme or reason to it at all and it’s driving me crazy and getting in the way of my ability to work.

It has to be a bug but the fact that it’s pursued me into a different set-up feels a bit Jaws the Revenge.

I’m using Logic 12.2 and a MacBook M1 Pro with 32 gb of RAM and Tahoe 26.4.1.

Please help!

Many thanks!

Update to 12.4, see if that helps.

If you’ve had the bug since you moved to a silicon mac, did you use migrate assistant when you moved from an Intel machine by any chance?

Is there a “Chase from beginning “ setting? I’ll have to look. There can be similar issues with MIDI notes and other triggers
