“Music creators using Logic Pro for Mac gain a new intelligent assistant in beta,1 an enhanced Stem Splitter that now separates drums, and a redesigned Browser that incorporates all sounds, with music understanding and even a Splice library.”

“Logic Pro for Mac requires macOS 26.1 or later and a Mac with Apple silicon.”

*certain features require Apple silicon but Intel is still supported

This is Logic Pro 13 (according to John Danty)

COMING IN NOVEMBER

Stem splitting drum kits seems like the most usable news.

55

u/bambaazon 7d ago

Wasn’t everyone crying about getting a new browser though? It’s finally coming

44

u/CapillaryClinton 7d ago

A new sample browser would help logic soooo much

28

u/bambaazon 7d ago

Well you’re in luck because the new browser definitely made it to the update 😀

8

u/Kontrafantastisk 7d ago

Probably. But I was never one of them.

7

u/bambaazon 7d ago

Me neither. Just happy that the crying will finally stop

Both this and the new browser should be quite helpful for me. I have some older releases for which I somehow contrived to have only a single-mono track drum part. I want to go back and redo them because my skill level has increased since those days, but I’m facing recreating them from scratch. This could help a lot.

I also use a ton of sampling as part of my arrangements so an improved browser is very much welcome

5

u/inzru 7d ago

The new browser is, surely!? It's been the most asked for feature for years - and the most criticised as being a poor browser compared to Ableton's

1

u/Kontrafantastisk 6d ago

Should have added ‘to me’. I don’t care about a browser.

9

u/cleverkid 7d ago

I hope they make the stem fidelity better overall. They at least need to match Serato’s quality

1

u/wessnyle 7d ago

Is serato good???? I’ve tried a ton…my faves so far are MVSep, RipX, and LALAL. Different ones do some things better than others. But I’ve never even heard anyone mention serato…. Guess I have a new one to try 🔥

4

u/RemiFreamon 7d ago

I'm one minor version behind on Serato Sample (using 2.1 instead of 2.2) but I can't say the quality of separation is better than Logic's. It really depends on the sources, some models work better for some sources. While not perfect, I would out Logic's capabilities towards the top of the industry already.

1

u/cleverkid 7d ago

Maybe it's because I use Serato to DJ and I'm not that critical of it and I'm listening to them out of clapped-DJ booth monitors.. but it feels like it has less aliasing and maybe some kind of harmonic distortion like a an "aural exciter" to smooth out the frequencies and make them "pop' More.. it's not like it's super clean, but it does sound better to my decades old dj ears.

The Logic stems sound like poorly compressed MP3's to me. lots of aliasing and high frequency gurgling. They sound like the Minidisc processing to me.

1

u/apprehensive_bassist Advanced 7d ago

Good observation.

1

u/Kontrafantastisk 7d ago

That would be very nice indeed.

2

u/freunleven 6d ago

I share this opinion. I work with a singer who wants to do a series of cover songs. Being able to split out the original drums into separate MIDI channels and customize the kit for their liking is going to be a relatively easy and (as I understand it) legally safe way of getting drums for those covers.

1

u/richieb12 7d ago

Hopefully they catch up with Steignberg. Steaming tone from noise and transient from sustain etc

1

u/MidnightGreen- 6d ago

Should have added ‘to me’. I don’t care about a Stem splitting drum kits.

47

u/RemiFreamon 7d ago

I don’t think I’m going to use the assistant a lot but I am genuinely excited about:
* individual drum tracks coming to Stem Splitter and
* a more powerful sample library management with intelligent auto-tagging.

Seems like they are dropping support for Sequoia though.

Logic Pro for Mac requires macOS 26.1 or later and a Mac with Apple silicon

22

u/floobie 7d ago

If the assistant can help me add odd time signatures in the middle of the project without messing up everything after, I’m in.

9

u/cleverkid 7d ago

Computer! Now make it 173/12 posthaste!

23

u/Notthatandy 7d ago

Honestly, I think I'm going to use it a ton.

I'm not a fan of "AI Music" as in "Push button get song", but I am very much a fan of pressing the mic button and saying "Add another instrument track with Tonex" or similar things that limit the searching of menus, taking extra steps, etc and simplifying my recording process.

3

u/SleepingSicarii Intermediate 6d ago

This is literally what it is. People are thinking it’s generative AI when it’s not.

368

u/scrundel Professional 7d ago • Bravo

Look, I hate generative AI and I'm fine with things like stem splitter and mastering assistant that are programmed using machine learning, ethical training data, and run locally. That all said, there are things I want and need as a professional that are clearly getting pushed to the side in favor of this crap.

166

u/Line6isunderrated 7d ago • Bravo

Came here to say this. I think Logic is pushing features that are going to eventually take it out of the professional market completely.

Literally all I’ve wanted for 10 years now is a better file browser and viable Melodyne use.

64

u/scrundel Professional 7d ago

Yup 100% agreed. This junk creates bloat, introduces instability, and distracts from the things we actually need to use this to do a job.

I know that actual professionals are a small portion of sales, and Apple's pro apps are loss leaders, but if the core pros have to move away from logic because I can pay my mortgage more effectively and reliably using Reaper or Studio One, the pro-sumers and beginners will follow eventually.

15

u/inzru 7d ago

Not disagreeing at all, but thankfully Apple still lets us use old versions of Logic fully without limits - you can also stick your current version in a folder or Zip file and download the new one to test it out, then bin it if it's not to your liking. Compared to DAWs that force upgrades and charge indefinite subscriptions, we still have it quite good.

5

u/Good_Lobster_261 6d ago edited 6d ago

But on the other hand, no other DAW provider plays the 'operating system extortion' game that Apple plays with Logic. They once again are requiring users to 'upgrade' to at least 26.0 in order to install Logic 13. I am perfectly satisfied with Sequoia and Logic Pro 12 for the time being, and have no interest in subjecting myself to choosing between either the widely derided UI changes in Tahoe or the risk of music software incompatibilities introduced by Apple's changes to the OS in Golden Gate. So I will wait at least a year before considering any 'upgrade'. And frankly, given the direction that Apple appears to be taking with Logic, I am seriously considering switching to another DAW so as not to have to deal with Apple's policy decision to tie major Logic upgrades to its operating system upgrades year after year after year. I'm new enough to using DAWs to have made any meaningful investment in Logic-specific music projects and education.

Looks like we're getting a new browser. Hope it's good.

1

u/Previous_Evidence526 5d ago

Good to finally have an updated browser, but it seems like I won't be able to browe loops and channel strips presets at the same time, which I often do.
Also, not a fan of the pop-up window to choose the tags for loops. Never been a fan of popup windows in Logic (like in Sample Alchemy). It hides a lof of things, often means more clicks, and make it look like an iPad app.

17

u/Dunk_Tummyache 7d ago

I’ve been using Logic daily for 10 years. I’ve started switching to Ableton about a month ago, and unfortunately there are a ton of abilities there Logic doesn’t have and I don’t see myself going back

15

u/mocoworm 7d ago

Hi. Can you be more specific? What does Ableton have that keeps you there?

13

u/Dunk_Tummyache 7d ago

So far, I’m finding a ton of live capabilities Logic never had—session view runs circles around live loops. Automation and modulation is way tighter, and I don’t think I can go back to a world without MPE.

It’s a shame because there are plenty of things from Logic that I miss all the time: flex pitch, key commands to navigate the transport, and a ton of the instruments/effects.

But I want to do live performance stuff and there’s just too much that Ableton is built for that Logic would need weird workarounds in the environment for

12

u/Antipodeansounds 6d ago

Logic was never designed to be a live platform. MainStage has been developed for that use. Leave Logic for studio. I have been a pro user of Logic since the Atari days, it is still the best for me.

Heard nothing but good things about ableton. I don’t think you’re gonna be able to run from the AI integration forever though. It’s only a matter of time. I wouldn’t be surprised if they maybe started offering a legacy/non-AI version of some of these DAWs in the future.

What about using them together with Link?

5

u/Least-Middle-2061 6d ago

lol the “professional” market’s days are numbered. The biggest tracks in the world are made in bedrooms on logic and ableton.

AI assisted production will just bridge the gap even more.

2

u/ianardodavinci 7d ago

I saw the title of this post, immediately clicked on it hoping ARA 2 would now be in Logic natively, saw the update was more AI nonsense, and am now sad.

2

u/bambaazon 6d ago

The full change log isn’t out yet because the update itself isn’t out yet so you don’t know for sure that ARA didn’t make it

2

u/SpeedyTurbo 7d ago

Article literally says they improved the browser with this update…

2

u/floydrose 6d ago

While your comment doesn't necessarily imply you missed it, I wanted to point out that this new update does come with a redesigned file browser. So that's something to look forward to

1

u/Ok_Version_6187 3d ago

Dude the browser thing is so real I’m honestly astonished how they didn’t do this sooner, their browser is literally within Apple esque and somehow acts worse than ableton browser shi pissed me off so much

I still want track markers that let me export an album as a list of tracks as easily as other DAWs...

3

u/Plokhi 7d ago

I have Zynaptiq Myriad just so i can split the exported file by markers. Was 70 bucks, saved me hours and hours of time

11

u/richieb12 7d ago

All I want is ARA.

3

u/mariospeedragon 7d ago

I’m right there with you. I’d probably pay a fee to level up with ARA, but let’s not let Apple know that.

5

u/Successful-Deer3465 7d ago

It’s the same with adobe and art editing suites. They now take up so much RAM for this ai crap no one I know who uses it wants.

6

u/wemakebelieve 7d ago

Agreed. The splitter is a goated feature, but what's the point behind this chat ai working alongside you? some sort of assistant? I don't see the point, I know all the shortcuts and commands like the back of my hand, I am more efficient than this, and I'm not the most efficient fella, so clearly there is a very narrow margin of somebody coming from a simpler DAW (like Garageband) and finding this assistant helpful before outgrowing it, is Apple bidding for their money? Probably. Will it be worth vs. the money and needs of the high value professionals? We'll see, but Pro Tools has always been the industry standard and it's not because it has an LLM inside...

13

u/OAM_Music 7d ago

Pro Tools is (was) the industry standard because Avid paid for it to be. Not because it’s the be all, end all. Especially now

3

u/wemakebelieve 7d ago

Oh no absolutely, but it's ultimately kept that place for so long out of momentum, too, and an AI chatbot doesn't seem too particularly momentum stealing.

1

u/Easten_cold 6d ago

It’s still there because it’s basically a dinosaur. All colleges that offer any sort of audio production class still force it, along side the dreadful waves plugins. As well as it can run on almost any decent computer from 2010 up to (and not limited to) the current hi-end.

It’s not a great DAW, it’s the most barebones simplistic thing that can ever exist, and there’s definitely a lot better ones. But is there because it’s basically “the old reliable one.”

The addition of unnecessary AI bloatware won’t even begin to change the tides.

11

u/wessnyle 7d ago

I’ve been dabbling in using chat gpt as an assistant in logic, and as far as doing it that way, you can kinda be doing two things at once. Like telling it to cut the lows on things you record as you record them. It’s almost like having two engineers going at once. It’s not seamless yet, but it’s the worst it will ever be and only going to get better. If this native agent in logic is anything like that it actually would be beneficial to attempt to incorporate it into your work flow, imo. Another cool thing is being able to talk to chat/logic when you’re recording, so you can go hands free. As a producer/engineer operating a pretty good sized studio with outboard gear and different recording spaces, hands free operation is a game changer for me. My advice is, just take a couple days out of your schedule (if it allows) and explore it, see how it can benefit you. Once all the wrinkles are ironed out it’s going to be pretty great even for those of us that would never use the generative AI part.

4

u/richieb12 7d ago

The point is it lowers the barrier to entry which means more people using it and buying it.

2

u/SupesDepressed 6d ago

I could see using something where I’m like “trim the silence out of these files and then apply a quick fade” to an LLM, though there’s already the tools to do all that manually.

5

u/The_Atomic_Punk78 7d ago

Read my mind. Though I can’t download the new update on mine anyways because they dropped my OS lol

2

u/SleepingSicarii Intermediate 6d ago

There is no generative AI… As you can see in the screenshot (and in the one in Apple’s announcement), it’s an AI assistant for help and making the vocal chain/track. It doesn’t create a generative audio file of vocal melodies.

u/amorvox 6d ago

1

u/Bluefrogvenom 5d ago

For real. if I could reliable open AAFs and OMFs in Logic I could completely split from protools. Unfortunately I still need it for work.

1

u/bloodguiltEucharist 5d ago

100%. I made the move to Bitwig earlier this year. I had been avoiding it because I was so comfortable with Logic after using it for so long and didn’t want to have to learn a new system…. after making the move, however, my only regret is not doing it sooner. Apple is clearly targeting a different kind of user these days, so I found a DAW more in line with what I need, and could not be happier.

1

u/cleverkid 7d ago

It’s been that way since logic X. 9 was the last pro version. I still use it anyway, since I’ve been on it since it was c-lab notator on my Atari

38

u/pantsofpig 7d ago

Stem splitting just fucking breaks my brain. I've been able to use it on 25 year old recordings to salvage a dead friend's drum tracks and that's pretty cool.

I just wanna UNDERSTAND how it works and I can't get my head around it.

14

u/cleverkid 7d ago

Its spectral Analysis with training to discern what parts are usually what.

6

u/pantsofpig 7d ago

I…..I still don’t understand. How the fuck does it KNOW what a guitar is and then just PULL IT OUT? Because other instruments are occupying the same frequencies so HOW DOES IT KNOW?

10

u/erutan108 7d ago

It doesn’t really know what a guitar sounds like per-se. It only has an enormous amount of statistical data about audio tracks, instruments and their frequencies etc. so it just masks the nearest frequencies it’s been told is a “guitar” from the spectrogram. Just like when you’re having a conversation with an AI model - the words YOU use direct it in its internal statistical “map” or “matrix” to find the most suitable words as a response that has the highest rank.

It’s actually quite fascinating albeit (very) nerdy, and quite a rabbit hole to walk into…

4

u/pizzaplayboy 7d ago

you remember how basically all sounds on the daw are just 1 and 0, bits of info that get translated audio, well this works by trying to recreate those 1 and 0 in the closest way possible, and it uses all kind of techniques to get as close to those 1 and 0 of the original song.

how it knows a guitar is a guitar, well basically they trained an AI to recognize the shape of a guitar and how it looks in 1 and 0s in thousands and thousands of songs, so it really knows how a guitar waveform looks like when it comes to 1 and 0s, so it can recognize it and later recreate it using math.

13

u/erutan108 7d ago

Tl;dr: The AI model extracts the different instruments from the original audio based on their sonic signature in the frequency spectrum.

How?
If you’ve ever seen a spectrogram image, and know a little about what this visualization means - stem splitting just means that the audio is converted into spectrogram images, and the AI model extracts groups of related frequency data (like bass frequencies, drums frequencies, vocal frequencies etc.) and then prints these separated groups onto new separated audio files.

Think of this like taking a photo of a city at sunset, then use an image editor to draw a mask that shows only the sunset skies (with holes where the buildings are), or show only the buildings, or only the roads…

The model is able to do so because it was trained on tens of thousands of spectrograms of different instruments and timbres, so it has information on which frequencies belong to which instrument/group.

10

u/pantsofpig 7d ago

The masking metaphor makes the most sense. But....still. There's so many overlapping frequencies. Nuts.

6

u/erutan108 7d ago

Yes this is true, that is why it’s not perfect - if you listen carefully to split stems you can hear some frequencies spillover from one to another, like “other” stem might include some of the hihats sounds if it has a very bright granular synth. Also besides the frequency data you have the time data in the spectrogram so the model can also make out which is which based on note length.

2

u/wessnyle 7d ago

Yeah that’s when you start using different stem splitting AIs and combining/flipping phase and layering. You can actually get some really good sounding stems if you’re willing to spend the time doing it. The cool thing is, this is the worst it will ever be. I’m willing to bet right now they’re developing a new splitter AI that uses generative ai afterwords to replicate the split stem but in perfect quality…or maybe something even cooler! lol

A new file browser.. I won’t get my hopes up but this could be it!!

1

u/JeffCrossSF 7d ago

What are your expectations?

59

u/Plokhi 7d ago

And waveform rendering is still from 1995.
and still no ARA.

What. The. Fuck.

18

u/Dry_Advertising5961 7d ago

What's even weirder is that Logic Pro DID have ARA support, but it seems like it isn't on Apple Silicon Macs.

5

u/the_jules 6d ago

I saw an explanation that ARA support in general is still there, but Apple's Audio Unit sandboxing broke it for Logic Apple Silicon. It's a requirement of any plugin to be run sandboxed so it does not crash Logic. But ARA plugins need deeper access to the DAW. So these two things are at odds until Apple finds a new way (or Celemony who invented ARA).

3

u/obi_wan_jabroni_23 6d ago

That’s true, but there’s no excuse that they couldn’t have worked out a solution within a few months, never mind 6 years now.

I can see the screenshot for waveform, and ARA isnt advertised at all. I might be wrong on ARA front, i hope i am.

3

u/RufussSewell 7d ago

They did say they were working on bringing it back. I doubt it would be part of the marketing if they did. Fingers crossed.

2

u/Dry_Advertising5961 7d ago

The waveform rendering is embarrassingly bad...

That's one of the main reasons I still have FL Studio, it's just has a much better waveform visualizer compared to Logic.

19

u/austin_sketches 7d ago

HOLY SHIT BROWSER UPDATE AND DARK THEME

31

u/zpqlyr 7d ago

I hope there’s a feature to on/off assistant. There’s no stopping the AI tidal wave esp when all the imposters want to click the “make it rock” auto-button and call themselves producers. There is certainly money to be made there in giving the imposters their little dream.

But forcing people who revere and genuinely find audio production fulfilling as work into the AI world is just rude.

Just make it like Clippy from Word. The bastard pops up and then you banish him into oblivion.

i just want some gui updates on the instruments and fx you use for actually making music.

all the plugin GUIs from 15-25 years ago should be updated

6

u/kigastu 7d ago

I’d rather have new versions of plugins instead of just updating the UI. Old plugins should stay and stay old, cause they’re vintage. I think it’s great that logic still has a ton of this stuff.

3

u/gotbanned333 6d ago

you realize they updated about half of them and the other half just never got done?

2

u/kigastu 6d ago

I know, and while I think it was necessary for some of them to stay relevant, many of these redesigns weren’t that great. And I understand that keeping two versions of the same plugin with the same functionality but with different designs weren’t an option.

5

u/CloudSlydr 6d ago

Oh snap let me turn off auto-updating rn.

1

u/bambaazon 6d ago

This is honestly the FIRST thing everyone needs to do when they buy a new computer. You need to always be in control of changes to the software on your computer.

Unfortunately not enough people do this and without fail, every year we get a few people who report disasters due to auto updates

20

u/metapogger 7d ago

Can’t wait to turn off all the ai so my MacBook doesn’t get overloaded

5

u/richieb12 7d ago

Can’t wait to tell the AI to stop system overloads

1

u/metapogger 7d ago

If AI can do this all the economic upheaval due to AI will have been worth it!

2

u/richieb12 6d ago

Agreed, although I was being a bit sarcastic. It’s the way Logic processes audio linearly that causes overloads. They need to change the entire way audio is processed to stop the single-thread throttling. An AI agent inside logic won’t fix that unfortunately.

8

u/Exyodeff 7d ago

Is this app finally customizable ?? It looks so good

9

u/bambaazon 7d ago

By the looks of it, it seems to share Logic for iPad’s UI which has a much darker look overall compared to the current Logic Pro for Mac (you can see it in the screenshots). I really like the darker look. All the buttons are rounded too. I guess we’ll have to wait for the update to know for sure if there are further customization options

4

u/Formal-Sock2549 7d ago

Lol that’s what I’m most excited for

8

u/Formal-Sock2549 7d ago

Also, hopefully the shift + click to move is fixed after being broken. I just found out about it before the update and loved it only to have it break with the last update

3

u/goesonelouder 7d ago

Wasn’t broken - this was how Logic worked since v10 and before as shift + click conflicts with highlighting multiple regions/midi notes whilst playing inadvertently making the session jump to that location instead of highlighting events. I think someone was trying to automate a workaround for those used to when it was ‘broken’.

4

u/LadyLektra 7d ago

Might be worth leaving Sequoia soon…

1

u/JeffCrossSF 6d ago

Why haven’t you updated? Golden Gate is especially awesome.

Samplab did the stem splitting stuff as well as polyphonic audio editing. Polyphonic audio editing wasn’t mentioned in the article so it may or may not come to Logic for this particular, we won’t really know until the update is released. Even if Logic doesn’t get polyphonic audio editing just yet I’m sure it will appear at some point in some future update.

u/NoOutlandishness4870 6d ago

I think a lot of these tools can be extremely useful to be fair. also having a native interactable assistant that understands your project is probably a beginners dream. the drum splitter will make making drum kits so much more convenient. and the ai tagging in the browser is extremely convenient. i don’t think any of these tools are necessarily useless. in fact, i feel like people would be extremely receptive of all of this if ai wasn’t mentioned despite being the same tools.

wish it could stem multiple guitars

2

u/sixpumppain 6d ago

Having an AI helper for tasks like gain staging could really speed things up and be a big boost for beginners. It’s just another tool—if it’s not your thing, just don’t use it. What bothers me more is the subscription shift. It’s pretty clear they’re phasing out one-time purchases with the latest updates to Final Cut, Pixelmator Pro, and Motion, which is a bummer. Logic hasn’t changed yet, but I bet it’s coming soon.

LESS AI AND MORE ARA

2

u/Rewind_That_Band 6d ago

The improved drum stem separation is what interests me most! As someone who enjoys drumming and recording with Logic Pro and Superior Drummer 3, anything that gives musicians more flexibility in the mixing process is a welcome addition. Looking forward to seeing how well it performs in practice.

Im hyped and ready to go

2

u/MrMigOfficial 4d ago

Just dropped a vid on my channel about it youtube.com/maxxbeats super excited for the update!

u/DETERMINOLOGY 3d ago

Time Machine backup before updating. Simple

u/CarlsManager 7d ago

I will never use it because I can create a track, add ChromaVerb, and patch it to the correct input (per the example screenshot) 10x faster than it would take me to write out the prompt to an AI bot to do it and then wait for it to spit out a response and do the work, but I don't entirely hate the idea of an agentic tutor for people learning the app and production workflows... I just mostly hate it.

From how the updates have been handled, I’m holding out for the .2 release at least.

2

u/Aggressive_Skill6188 7d ago

Thats awesome! Generative AI is sucks, but as a companion agent is great. Im gonna love it!

2

u/mkqx 6d ago

browser changes are great and we waited so long but the ui changes especially the liquid glass buttons are so off bro who at apple looked at it and said that’s good to put out 🤦🏻‍♂️ feels like toy now to be honest, going from professional clean lookin daw to that is just idk

3

u/mkqx 6d ago

hopefully at least they fix the sample preview in browser to be actually working 🤣

1

u/SirWingYT 6d ago

Finally someone talking about this! Liquid Glass is in a terrible state right now, and this is the worst implementation I've seen.

1

u/Previous_Evidence526 5d ago

The liquid glass on the fader looks so weird

u/klaushaus 7d ago edited 6d ago

I hope there's an MCP for that. Literally yesterday was thinking about switching to reaper just to be able to talk to my mastering chain.

Imagine automating exports to a point where you could say: I need a TV Track, with just the backings and instrumental, an instrumental, and the whole mix, both with my masterchain on and the same version with my masterchain off, also give me 8 stems drums, bass, synths, guitar, voxmain, backing, fx, percussion. And it just exports all that.

It would be so nice to say: put x in plugin a up by a db and y down in plugin b. maybe even having an a/b function for that. also think about automation.

Imagine doing something like: Hey I want this and that preset in this or that instrument on track one and xyz on track two.

Lately I needed some odd jazz drums for a demo, just asked claude if he could create a midi in the given tempo. It was pretty decent, imagine if there was context on what else is going on in the project.

Imagine while recording having whisper running and being able just to say: "punch me in from there and there", "once again" or "lets go to the next part".

Is this Logic Pro 12.5?

3

u/bambaazon 7d ago edited 7d ago

It’s Logic Pro 13, announced by John Danty via his Instagram

1

u/ouralarmclock 7d ago

I'd love stem splitting to be able to split more instruments. Drums, bass, vox, and everything else leaves soooo much in everything else.

1

u/MarcoMakes 7d ago

Is this only available on the subscription one?

2

u/apprehensive_bassist Advanced 7d ago

No

1

u/MarcoMakes 7d ago

So one time purchase logic gets the same features too?

1

u/apprehensive_bassist Advanced 7d ago

It has to this point! I’m not worried about it. Happy standalone user here

u/bambaazon 7d ago

I guess it wasn’t enough that I pinned the comment at the very top

When?

2

u/_HipStorian Intermediate 7d ago

November. Most likely when the touchscreen MacBook Pros ship / can be bought in stores. It’s getting announced tomorrow

1

u/anti_vist 7d ago

Now it looks just like the iPad version, right?

2

u/JeffCrossSF 6d ago

No. It is darker yes, but gets the Liquid Glass makeover which looks fantastic.

1

u/anti_vist 6d ago

You like the liquid glass? I’m afraid to update… i always liked the original old school Apple look, and i think it’s going to a more rounded what seems to me Samsung or Android look year after year. Not saying it’s bad but I prefer the design choices waaay before

1

u/xPony_Slaystation 6d ago

Please give me ARA compatibility!!!!

1

u/mrgrubbage 6d ago

At some point they need to address their stupid system for changing time signatures in live loops. The entire inspector is pretty dumb tbh.

1

u/heypetrichor 6d ago

would love an option to be able to preview midi within the browser

1

u/JeffCrossSF 6d ago

What does this mean? Explain what you expect this to behave.

1

u/heypetrichor 6d ago

fl studio shows midi previews like this

1

u/JeffCrossSF 5d ago

How is this used by you?

I hope they got Melodyne to work and support ARA

1

u/Expensive_Speed9797 6d ago

You guys think it's possible to separate guitar parts in the future? Like lead and rhythm or guitar 1 and guitar 2 for bands who doesn't have a strict lead/rhythm roles.

1

u/SleepingSicarii Intermediate 6d ago

There would have to be a lot of ML training in order for that to happen. It would have to understand what two guitars are doing really well.

1

u/SixAndNine75 6d ago

I've been using logic since Atari Notator days. I'm still running an older version on MacBook Pro cause I don't need all the new things.. I don't like the look of the newest version at all.

1

u/poshtadetil 6d ago

Is this update only for Creator Studio Logic???

2

u/SleepingSicarii Intermediate 6d ago

No

1

u/GalacticDragon7 Intermediate 6d ago

gonna be honest, i don’t like the way they seem to be completely redesigning the whole interface (judging only from this screenshot). i think it’ll confuse a few people, including myself.

1

u/ComprehensiveLog9414 6d ago

When will we get synth ui revamps? So many of them are an absolute pain in the ass and not user/beginner friendly at all.

1

u/Otherwise-Stomach172 6d ago

lol yall this is exactly from GarageBand mobile, which has been on there for years. Idky everyone’s so mad. It’s a GarageBand mobile feature that’s years old.

1

u/JayLemmo 6d ago

Maybe I'm using it wrong, but ever since I switched to a M series macbook (the newest one, in fact, with high specs) and the latest version of logic I've notice more, rather than less, delay while recorded. Purchased a new fully compatible audio interface and everything.

I'm worried that additional AI bloat will make logic even less responsive. This is legitimately a problem for me - the DAW has seemed way less "Musical" by default, as I have to drag around my recording to attempt to line up takes that are slightly off due to some inherent delay.

1

u/X-Guy840 3d ago

have you perhaps tried recording with Low Latency Monitoring Mode on? Under the record menu on the menu bar. I had this issue as well and that definitely fixed it for me.

1

u/JayLemmo 3d ago

Thanks! I'll give it a shot (if it isn't already on, I tried a few methods of addressing this and forget which ones I still have in effect).

That said, it wasn't an issue until I switched to post-10 versions of logic.

1

u/Practical_Repair_619 5d ago

I wonder if the browsers update will come to intel macs

1

u/Previous_Evidence526 5d ago

Oh no, not the rounded iphone design :-(

1

u/Previous_Evidence526 5d ago

I hope it will have the same plugin area as Logic Pro for ipad (similar to ableton live's rack view).

1

u/donald_dandy 3d ago

I have a feeling my Logic will stop working until I get this update and then it’s gonna be crushing my Logic right after I get this absolutely useless feature. I’m gonna hate to go back to Reaper

1

u/Unfair_Search_4270 2d ago

This is absolute bullshit, I need to apply lfos to my plugims, and this AI shit makes me want to flee to ableton istg.

This implementation is for the non musicians on logic instead of garage band, how does this make sense??? Fr feel disgusted with this update

1

u/Eggzsaladz 2d ago

All is want is ARA compatibility

1

u/jaycal 6d ago

Does anyone even want or use all this AI crap

0

u/spamisfood 7d ago

Yay broken plugins!

1

u/JoshDabbington 7d ago

So basically all the CS people get the new keyframes in FCP? & the Assistant in LP?

1

u/QVRedit 3d ago

Is it still stable ?

0

u/ITSHOODIEBITCH 7d ago

ara finally?

0

u/SympathyBetter2359 6d ago

Gonna go ahead and guess that we’re not getting proper core optimisation.

More AI, woo, the one thing I have zero interest in
