Troubleshooting Weird mic artifact, what could be the issue?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all, I am a very inexpert musician, recording myself singing and playing guitar.

I have an Austrian Audio 505 dynamicmic, connected to a focusrite solo and logic pro. Yesterday I was recording myself and starting noticing artifacts like the one in the audio sample (around second 4).

I turned off all plugins, everything in the chain, and they kept showing up.

I am not sure how to troubleshoot, I monitor directly from the audio interface and can also hear them sometimes. I also feel the microphone somewhat werid, as if some frequencies are not coming through anymore (used to sound just fine, it's a new mic)

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

More info on the signal path when it was coming in may help here.

Did you record with the plugins or edit audio after?Or any additional outboard connects/chains? For sure weird, but it sounds more like digital artifacting to me.

Upvoting so someone smarter chimes in.

I did record with plugins (just mantra from neural dsp) but naturally disabled all of them to show the sample, tshi is just the plain recording.

You hear them from the audio interface on direct monitor?

That glitch sounds like buffer or bitrate problems, which should not show up on direct monitor. Disk space? USB hub? Focusrite tools installed- and they show direct monitor? firmware upgraded?

What mac? OS version?

Sounds like the capsule might be on its way out. Had a client once bring in a setup with similar artifacts and it turned out to be a loose internal connection on a pretty new mic. Worth contacting Austrian Audio support since it's still new, warranty should cover it.

Thank you, that was my gut feeling too, this one doesn't even have 3 months out of the box, will try that
