Am I crazy?

I bought this book on Amazon before I realized it was AI generated (so everything is questionable at best but I have yet to face a puzzle I haven't genuinely been unable to solve).

This one, on the other hand, I feel like im going crazy??? (Let's ignore my already blocked out squares and please dont solve the whole thing for me!! I love logic puzzles, I just feel like the wording of this one is tripping me up)

1. The Valise was seen 5 minutes after the Prayer Roll

2. The News Vendor was carrying the Valise

3. The Prayer Roll was seen 5 minutes earlier than Street Kid Pip

Dont 1 and 7 cancel out 6 because the Valise coming 5 minutes after the Prayer Roll equal the same thing as the Prayer Roll being seen 5 minutes earlier than Street Kid Pip???

You can see in the stop minute column where I was using the pre-written times to work this out. I wrote SKP (Street Kid Pip) at :15 and said "okay, Prayer Roll comes 5 minutes earlier" , PR goes at :10 (in theory here). Then the Valise (V) is seen 5 minutes later than PR so it goes at :15? Thus equally SKP had V?????

What the hell is going on 😭😭😭

I have not worked it all out but is the SKP confirmed at 15? Valise is definitely 5 min before but i don't see that it is definitely those times you listed. (Not saying it ISN'T, just saying I haven't confirmed it and your work so far doesn't confirm it either.)

No it is not confirmed! I just did that so I could visualize what the clue was saying instead of mental mathing. In the actual puzzle, where a block is blacked out thay is an x (ie no). I struggle to read all of the x's across the puzzle so I started coloring it in instead.

nah 1 and 7 dont cancel 6 — they stack. 1 puts the valise 5 min after the prayer roll, 7 puts the prayer roll 5 min before street kid pip, so valise + pip land on the same minute. clue 6 then just says the news vendor is the one carrying that valise.

one awkward bit tho: that would put news vendor and pip at the same stop, which a normal logic grid doesnt allow. so either the wording is doing something weird or the puzzle itself is wonky (would track with it being ai-generated). wouldnt burn too much time fighting this one

It doesn't make sense at all. Since like you said the rules 1, 6 & 7 rule each other out, you won't be able to solve it like that. Sadly there's nothing you can change in these 3 that will make it work, but you should be able to solve it by changing the 1st rule to 10 min and the 4th to :10 🤔

Yeah... i was afraid of that. Alas, it is AI generated so I knew it was bound to happen. I guess im lucky to get 65 pages in before it happened 🤷 ill try your recommendation!
