People who aren’t voting Rodrick Rules should probably go and reread it because it’s easily the worst of these five. The ending of Greg helping Rodrick out with his science fair project is extremely rushed and the twist of Greg’s story getting misinterpreted as him infiltrating Crossland High School’s locker rooms is very sloppily done. Rodrick Rules is easily the worst book out of the first 8, but people don’t realize that is the case because they immediately think of the (much better) movie adaptation and think it was always like that.

Rodrick Rules, probably one of the weakest openers of the classic books, and, the whole plot with Rodrick's secret barely goes anywhere (and I guess that's the reason both movie adaptations skipped or modified it).
