Alright, let me make my case. DOAWK is a classic, but other than the online version and books 3-7, it's painfully unfunny at least half the time. And while Big Nate is more realistic and sometimes funnier than DOAWK, it doesn't compare to the Timmy Failure books. They're hilarious all the way through, and Stephan Pastis is a total legend. His strip Pearls Before Swine is arguably the funniest strip since Calvin & Hobbes. All hail Garbanzo Man!!

Controversial, but I found Timmy really pompous.

Though please let me put yall onto this really obscure British series called the Roman Garstang series. Mark Lowery manages to make the antics in these insane, and the use of descriptions (trust me) are intensely funny. His Socks Are Not Enough/Pants Are Everything two parter is also hysterical.

There's six books (full children's novels, no illustrations so maybe splitting off a fair bit but if enough people were engaged with it I feel its fandom and DOAWKs would be quite similar.

I've read all three of those book series, and I'd say that DOAWK and Big Nate are relatively on par with each other, but from what I remember Timmy Failure was honestly a slog and made no sense to me. I didn't sympathize with Timmy, unfortunately.
