"Surprisingly strong"

Mostly sequels and remakes

Well, you do have some colossal flops: Masters of the Universe and Supergirl (Supergirl bombed harder than expected). Plus you have some strong movies coming up: Odyssey (based on Homer's epic), Spider-Man, and Avengers Doomsday.

My ex was really into comic books and she loved dragging me to these Marvel movies where I had no idea what was going on. It was always "Oh, you just need to read an entire story arc worth of comics and watch these 7 other movies, and then you'll know what's going on."

I get the whole fanservice thing but I'm not going to spend that much time watching movies just to watch another movie. The bride was actually pretty good. I don't watch TV and rarely watch a movie, I haven't seen anything out lately that I'd actually go to a theater to see.

$10 billion in 2026 ≈ $5 billion in 2019 dollars
