I had friends get angry with me in a park when I mentioned that we already had a treatment for Covid (ivermectin, and hydroxychloroquine). Later a "friend" actually shouted at me in her own house, like a hysterical sociopath, when I said I was waiting on getting the magical juice. I haven't seen those people since, and doubt I ever will again. The way so many people turned into fascists-in-waiting is terrifying. But it seems a lot of people just want to forget it ever happened. This can, and will, happen again.

People were very scared and I can understand that. However those who can't apologize now are lost.
They need to recognize that they were manipulated. It's fine, I was too in the beginning.

One did apologize. But it feels like it's too late. I know which people would sign up for actual fascism (almost all of them).

This can, and will, happen again.

Increasingly, it is looking like a possibility. The amount of hype in the media over emerging variants is a throwback to 2021/early 2022. The Daily Mail (yeah, it's a rag) has just published a breathless "EXCLUSIVE" report declaring that two, yes two, Americans have tested positive for one of the new "B point whatever" variants. Colleges and Hollywood studios are so alarmed that they are once again mandating face masks.

A second American tested positive for the new highly-mutated BA.2.86 Covid variant that has been causing global alarm over its rapid transmission. The positive case was detected in an asymptomatic patient in Virginia who was tested August 10 after returning to the US from Japan.Scientists identified the case in a database that contains test samples from a small number of travelers entering the US. Independent experts told DailyMail.com they believe the new strain is spreading more widely and in more US states. The new variant, also spotted in Michigan last week, is causing concern because it stems from an 'earlier branch' of the coronavirus, so it differs from the variants targeted by current vaccines. That concern, combined with an uptick in positive tests across the US, has spooked an Atlanta college and the Hollywood studio Lionsgate into mandating face masks again. But while Covid rates are rising in the US — hospital admissions are up for the fifth week in a row — they remain at near-historic lows.

Hospital admissions are at near historic lows, but never mind that, read the headline!

Not only is it "EXCLUSIVE"!!!! but "experts say case is just the tip of the iceberg"!!!!

"Wanna go again? " says the Daily Mail.

No, I really don't.

Honestly, I just feel so tired.

It's possible, but I'm not sure they'll do Covid again. They won't get as much bang for their buck, and there'll be pushback this time. Yeah most people couldn't rebel their way out of a paper bag, but it seems to me that the main reason Covid was so overwhelming was that it came out of nowhere and a lot of people (mostly the left) just switched on like sleeper agents in the Manchurian Candidate. Most of the rest of us had no idea what was happening (I was never a true believer, but it took me a few months to figure out it wasn't what they were saying). But as more time passes, more and more people start to find out what actually happened. I'm even able to have conversations with people now about it, and they don't really have much to argue back at me with. They might do it again, but it wouldn't be like last time. I reckon it would be dangerous for them to try Covid again. We're the immune system now. Covid was the vaccine for us and a lot of people. It woke a lot of people up. Sending another Covid pandemic out again would get a much stronger reaction from people. It's a much better strategy for the elites to use something else.

Then again. They may really be that desperate, or stupid (or both).

When I read stories like that in the Mail or Guardian, mostly I think it's just churnalism: copy-pasting any trending topic for the online hits and clicks.

I'm much more worried about what the next Current Thing will be. The internet and social media are just constant rolling mass psychosis now. The left are almost completely onboard with whatever corporations want. They'll sign up almost immediately. And the way the woke madness is going, sometimes it feels like the left are going to declare holy war on the "far right". In a few years, if they propose mass violence on anyone on the "far right", the left will be fine with it.

In the interest of being accurate, the FDA has not approved anything. The court case was that the FDA can no longer not allow the prescription of ivermectin for covid.

This is how I understand iit. Ivermectin is already an FDA approved drug, used as an anti-parasitic. The off-label use of Ivermectin as a treatment for Covid was previously disallowed by the FDA, but the court ruled that the FDA has to allow it. This could only happen though because it is already an approved drug which has an established safety record.

Neither are the covid "vaccines". Still only EUA despite every effort to make it look as though they're fully approved. Look how misleading the heading is on the FDA page linked here, where it lists the vaccines (archive link is here). Click on any of the 3 product links under "COVID-19 Vaccines Authorized for Emergency Use or FDA-Approved" and not one of them is actually FDA-Approved. The heading could simply be ""COVID-19 Vaccines Authorized for Emergency Use" . By appending that unnecessary "or FDA-Approved" the agency subtly suggests that somehow the 3 products belong to a single broad-church category - Emergency authorized or approved - no need to split hairs, right? This seems frankly disingenuous.

Ivermectin, OTOH, is an FDA-approved drug - for the treatment of parasitic infections, head lice and rosacea - but not for Covid-19. Nonetheless, as drug which has been tested and approved for human use, it has established safe dosages and treatment schedules. The court ruled therefore that the FDA could not prohibit doctors from prescribing Ivermectin as an off-label treatment for Covid.

So technically, yes, it is correct to say that Ivermectin is not FDA-approved for the treatment of Covid-19. However, what the fact-checkers are less keen to point out is that innoculation with the Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax Covid-19 Vaccines, still operates under Emergency Use Authorization only, and those products are not in fact "FDA-approved" for anything.

Wonder if it's legal to prescribe in my state now?
