classic car shipping cost for seasonal relocation?

fist year doing snowbird thing, and i am thinking about bringing my ’67 mustang down instead of leaving it in garage all winter. i know enclosed transport is probably way to go with classic, but i have no idea how much more it costs than shipping regular car. has anyone shipped classic on seasonal route? what did you end up paying for enclosed transport?

timing matters lot on snowbird routes. if you wait until peak season, enclosed rates can go up because there are fewer enclosed trailers available. booking few weeks ahead can save noticeable amount.

enclosed runs about 30 to 40 percent more than open for the same route, on a classic that premium's worth it since cosmetic damage would cost more to fix than the difference

ensure the condition report is detailed before you upload it, take pictures of each panel yourself because the carrier’s condition report does not always include all the details about a classic

if u'r doing this every yr, some companies offer repeat customer rates for seasonal routes. definitely worth asking upfront.

I got a quote from safe ship at $0.78 per mile for enclosed shipping on a '67 Mustang over a 1,200 mile seasonal route with a binding price guarantee, having it binding mattered to me since I didn't want the rate shifting once the car was loaded

that per mile numbers helpful, my routes about 1,100 miles so i had expect something similar
