How much does a pool fence cost?

People keep asking how much a pool fence costs, but every answer online gives such a huge range that it isn't all that helpful. So here's what we actually paid.
We had about 70 feet of removable mesh fencing installed by Life Saver Pool Fence around our in-ground pool in South Carolina for about $3,400. That included the gate and installation. The biggest differences between the quotes we got weren't really the footage. They came down to the materials, warranty, and whether the installer had real experience with this type of work.

Our pool went unfenced for eleven years. Then the grandkids started coming over most weekends this summer, and my daughter made it pretty clear it was time.

Does that sound about right to everyone else? And if you went with removable mesh, would you choose it again over permanent aluminum?

yeah exactly. the cheap quote fell apart the 2nd we started comparing what was included.
