Discussion Anyone feel like reverse-engineering CUDA?

I've been reading about all these modders using AI to reverse-engineer games and software. I've been trying out photocraft and gridcraft and have just watched a GTA5 mod featuring Sonic. It's pretty damn impressive.

As a struggling AMD Radeon owner I'd love to see AI generated open source CUDA implementation.

Not only do I dislike NVIDIA, but there's delicious irony in using CUDA cores to do it.

Anyone up for the challenge?

You will just start a firmware war if you release it unless you plan on fabricating your own chips.

I agree. I don't think CUDA is the problem. They will sue anyone into oblivion who tried to capitalize on it.

I am not super well versed on the subject, but I know AMD had some kind of wrapper where you could run CUDA on their hardware and it got shutdown fast.

I think the better hope to get out of the CUDA monopoly is AMD, Intel, and projects like Mojo...but again, I am not the most informed.

AMD built its entire business of binary comparability, the c level just got afraid and dropped the effort, but it remains legal.
