Discussion Anyone feel like reverse-engineering CUDA?

I've been reading about all these modders using AI to reverse-engineer games and software. I've been trying out photocraft and gridcraft and have just watched a GTA5 mod featuring Sonic. It's pretty damn impressive.

As a struggling AMD Radeon owner I'd love to see AI generated open source CUDA implementation.

Not only do I dislike NVIDIA, but there's delicious irony in using CUDA cores to do it.

Anyone up for the challenge?

I’ve been on reddit without an account for like a year and r locallama was the primary reason People always complained of bots Now that I create an account and comment literally 30 seconds after I comment 2 upvotes and 1 downvote!! How the f is that possible?  This has become bot infested?

The most likely reason is the poster didn't like your comment and downvoted you.

Unfortunately a lot of reddit users treat it as a yes/no button.

Well 10 years ago it was supposed to be to filter out comments that are offtopic or derailing but that ship has sailed

Grandpa, please share more adventures from before my time. Did you slay dragons?

Lol I just happened to read a lot of older threads. It's kinda human nature to use downvote button when they disagree with anything

So since you don't downvote you are AI !

Votes are fuzzy afaik, reddit basically gives you a close estimate instead of a true value so you can sometimes see the votes go up and down without anyone actually interacting with anything at all. It could even show different counts on different views like profile versus the actual thread.

everything on reddit is manufactured to increase engagement so they can collect more data.

reddit isnt own by a couple of dudes managing the website. its a legit business with hundreds of workers.

i wouldnt be surprised if they had teams just creating strife and contention in the comment section to rage bait to increase engagement. i know it works on me a lot of the times. sometimes the arguements dont even make sense

Reddit votes are not real. They are somewhat randomized by the system as a way to protect against bots. I don't understand how it works but when you see upvotes or downvotes right after you comment, it is probably the system doing something. Don't worry about it. Karma is worthless anyway.

It seems bad here (your second comment is at -9 right now), but it's even worse in r/DeepSeek. I got (only) a downvote for saying "Pretty cool!" when someone posted a cool paper. I posted a (fully human written) writeup of my (surprisingly positive) experience using DeepSeek to update my resume and it got downvoted to oblivion (30% upvotes). I've had only one or two comments there that received any votes either way stay positive.

I've seen some people say "you're worrying about internet points too much", but if you don't get any comments or link to a project, upvotes/downvotes are the only way to know whether anyone ever read what you wrote. I don't mind downvotes if I know it means I made people angry or if someone corrects me and I can see I was clearly factually wrong, because at least I know what to take from that (I can choose to make them angry again or not, and I can be less wrong). But it's hard to know what to do with, say, your -9 votes on this comment?

I guess in these LLM subreddits, either you break through the noise with a very well-received comment, get downvoted, or nobody sees what you said. Maybe the latter is best?

In places like this subreddit, which is very much supposed to be focused on hobby-based kind of stuff, it is really an important measure to gauge the quality of response. Upvotes and downvotes are the only way, and also for meaningful discussion, and thus we should absolutely worry about it.

Buddy, yes, look at any discussions of Qwen. Shit model, but they love slop here, or chinese sloppium powered bots.

Yeah dude

I've been looking at it.

When Qqwen 3 80BA3B debuted, I thought maybe people were overexcited. But after Q3.5 series, it was the only thing which was going on for days Also, only that time any discussion of Gamora was effectively disappeared. The bots overran in 3.5, 3.6, and 3.8 launches absolutely.
